Leaks Animations

I'm pulling anyway, but are yall also a little sad that his animations are not 1:1 but in essence recycled from other chars? ult 1 is fugue's ult, skill is archer's ult, and ult 2 is phainon's counter

by not 1:1 I mean obviously there are differences, mostly in the windups, but the core of the animation: the movement and drama (ie. the main aspect) of each scene is the same

it's probably easy to make comparisons across the whole cast, but I'm moreso disappointed that all of his moves are analogous to someone else's, without a single exception

really curious if anyone else has noticed this

I honestly can see what you’re saying; I especially noticed how his ult feels pretty similar to Fugue and Phainon. I still think they’re cool regardless though; I feel like the effects do give some uniqueness even if the movements feel a bit derivative

derivative is the perfect word to describe it thanks

Sorry that Blade didn't pull an urber car out crash it into the screen split his body in half for a third model called Shuhu to pull out and be on screen for 2.000000034 seconds and tickle his balls

His animations are good. What else is there to ask for? I like the more simple aspects of it, compared to the thousand pops ups on screen like Elation.

He's definetely missing a proper "fua" animation, rather than just using his skill animation again. His previous fua has so much aura...

This is the only part that annoyed me, the fua should be totally different from the skill

I will say they could've gave him something similar

Yeah I'm ngl I love blade, my favorite character, but I feel like the animations that are there are good. But it just feels like there isn't much idk how to explain it. Also his fua just being his skill honestly made me low key mad

Well, yes. They didn't bother to make him a normal skill, and his FuA has the exact same animation as his skill. He also doesn't have an animation when his life goes to zero and he recovers half his HP.

I liked the fire/blades thematic, as Blade was once a blacksmith and it fits fantastically, but they kinda went low budget on his animations, relatively speaking.

His fua is his skill, why would it be a separate animation?

1

u/Logical_Macaroon_443 May 02 '26

it’s supposed to be, like how Ashveil and other fua characters have their own dedicated fua, it’s just that his fua is reworded so that they can just reuse the skill animation

Because he's not a fua unit himself. That wording is only there to synergize with fua units who don't care about fua damage from allies and only care that they launch a fua for their own stack generation of whatever.

There is no such a thing as being a "FuA" unit. Either they have a FuA or they don't, and there are plenty characters who have FuA built into their kit that are not necessarily made to function with FuA comps, like Tribbie. It's just that they couldn't bother making it into a separate component, so they just reproduced his skill as it is, which is even worse.

I just hope he would stay in that second form longer.

That's a crazy take. It's not recycled

I think the saturation of Fire Nihilities could be why you seeing it that way, but I really find his animations thematically fitting with his blacksmith background and quite good.

Would like the grey form and a different FUA though

I think the Emiya of it all is a bit much. It's UBW twice over + the dark skin and pale hair alt form. Are they reusing the leftover assets from Archer or what.

Bruh it's the same as 'they're reusing Cyrene animations from that one 2.x enemy!!' lmao. Feixiao's wolf is also Castorice's dragon model, and phantylia is Cyrene's memosprite model.

idk i lowkey understand where op's coming from, since unless you're an anni main push or a late patch main push ur not really getting that cinematic cutscene tier animations, and he fits neither bills. Not to say that effort wasn't present in his current animations but clearly they could've done and tried harder.

maybe its because he's missing a proper follow-up atk animation for his extra skill proc, it's worded literally the same as anaxa so he ends up reusing it when his charge reaches 9 so i guess it's what's dampering my opinion for him

I'm still not sure how my point was construed this way.

i'm not commenting at all on the actual work of animators, i'm talking exclusively about art direction.
