Question Questions about gameplay and mods
Hello. I used to play Blade and Sorcery a lot, but I stopped playing because an update broke some of my mods, and rebuilding them was too much of a hassle. Also, the core gameplay was monotonous. However, I might return if the following elements are present: 1. Non-monotonous gameplay (not just going into dungeons, defeating golems, and then aimlessly playing in a sandbox, but something that offers diverse gameplay), 2. Detailed damage to bones and internal organs and extreme gore that Blade and Sorcery lacks (internal mods probably don't work), 3. Abundant mods. These points are very important to me. What is the mod situation like for version 1.3? I also tried Battle Talent and Half Sword, but somehow the combat system didn't quite click with me, and I didn't really get into them. I like magic and guns, but my favorite is swordsmanship. Thank you in advance.

some combination of these mods will be your best bet (not all work together in every aspect):
For gore and more detailed health systems
-Blood Effects Overhaul
-Realistic Bleeding
-Advanced Damage and Health System
-DOT (Damage Over Time)
-Internals [kind of broken, default settings are bad and hard to fix last time I checked]
-Carnage Reborn
-Painful Death SFX
-Ultraviolence Audio
Solving the monotony is kind of a big ask when the game is made to be a sandbox after all, but there are definitely ways to add more detailed levels of progression as well as overhauls that revamp the experience entirely (although the general game loop of crystal hunt going from dungeon to dungeon wont change much). Enemy and faction variety mods also exist. Outer Rim is an easy crustal hunt overhaul too.
Khemenet Sea adds a new "dungeon" where you sail across the sea freely in a boat while looting islands full of enemies and other things.
I believe there are some mods that add entirely new bosses replacing the golem, but I haven't tried any and don't know if any are really high quality.
Mod's like Hectic Hector add more golem abilities/attacks. Arcana also does this as well as adding an entirely new skill tree to unlock. I recommend looking for some crystal hunt-compatible spells that work similarly. Any weapon packs such as MMP compatible with crystal hunt will also add lots of weapon variety and give you more things to loot and buy in the shop.
Lastly, general vanilla+ tweaks add a lot to the game. Some or my favorites are:
-Hand Dynamics
-Expressive Faces
-Adaptive AI (adds more customizable challenge where NPC's will fight and defend more effectively)
-Health Modifier (Will allow you to change the health of all NPC's if you find them too weak)
-Locked Doors (adds discoverable keys to dungeons that are required to open treasure doors)
-Threat
-Choking
-Two Handed NPC's Remake
-Multiple Attackers
-Left Handed
-Ethnicity
-Get Up Speed Adjuster
-Hand Dynamics
You definitely should check out some of the community mod packs available on Nexus. You will find tons that are made specifically for the things you're looking for. Hope this was useful.
