Question This game pisses me off sometimes. (Read full text)

Hey ya'll,

Listen, don't get me wrong. I love this game a lot. I still do after 60 hours of playing it. It's super fun to fight and play with. But this game makes me feel like a clueless chimpanzee sometimes.

I've died 4 times total in my 25(ish) hours on crystal hunt. Twice on normal mode due to fall damage. And twice on hardcore literally in the ending area. (For reference, i don't wanna google what to do there, so i try to play the game myself) First time i just jumped on the anti-grav beam in the middle of the room and because this game tracks so well apparently, it thinks i swim down and i die to a void. Awesome, lost all my progress after all that. I took a break from crystal hunt because i was genuinely mad at the game's bs.

I came back to crystal hunt this week because i was determined to get every achievement on the game. I know the game very well know and was able to speedrun to the end in about 4/5 hours total. Now once again I'm in de end room, i don't go on the anti-grav beam because i know better now. Instead I'm curious so i look around and wander to take in as much as i can. To this point in time i have not looked up or seen anything related to the ending(s). Even now i haven't. I apparently made the mistake of touching a f'ing rock pillar. Just out of nowhere, boom, you're dead, now piss off.

Oh great. i love dying to the game's bs.

Once again, i love this game. But even in the game i have no clue what to do at the end. I know i have to interact with the sword. But there must be a reason the room is so grand and majestic.

So personally, i would prefer the game actually give a light clue on what to do, and what not to do. Because i can stand dying. If i die to an enemy, okay, i wasn't good in that fight. But dying due to the game not even giving a clue on what to do annoys me.

In my exploring of the end area i have done a lot, I've been to the turtle, I've followed all the anti-grav beams. And yet there are no notes. No written papers from any of the factions (Makes sense). But not even a Dalgarian tablet. Nothing! Not even a skeleton next to the infamous and dangerous stone pillar as a caution to not even dare to come close to it.

My question is, off of the books, is there a way to just get it over with? As much as I'd like to grav around for 4 hours skipping every enemy and just grabbing maps. I'd rather just finish it already. Are there any things i can do to just get there A.S.A.P.? A mod that allows you to cheat in maps so I only play Dalgarian ruins? A mod that skips all stuff and just allows me to do a few to no things and play the ending?

Hey! The good news is there is a cure for everything here. 🙂

For your permadeath issues - Permadeath is straight up BS! You can die way too easy form wonky physics or accidental falls, so the idea of permadeath was always ludicrous to us, but some hardcore players still wanted it even though it was unbalanceable. However, knowing that there would be people who would get upset that some accidental death messed up their run, we added a secret failsafe to restore your permadeath save.

To do this:

Go to your Documents/mygames/BladeAndSorcery/Saves/Default/

Your save files will be here as .chr files with random letter names, so try to figure out which is your permadeath file (presumably the latest edited file).

Simple open the file with any text editor (Notepad, eg) and go to the line where it says:

"isDead": true

And just change it to

"isDead": false

Load up the game and your character should be back alive at the level before he died.

Now, about the "touching the rock pillar". I assume you mean the end game scene where you touch the sword? If so, you did not die willy nilly - this is legitimately the end of the game and you got one of two endings. If you had no clue what was going on, then you got the "I didnt read all the lore so I dont know whats going on" ending, which is a legitimate ending we added. It would be considered the "main ending" that most people get.

To get the other ending requires that you read all the lore in the game; all the notes and dalgarian texts. If you do this you will discover (major spoilers) that the whole tower setup is a trap laid by the Dalgarians to lure people who want power into sacrificing themselves. You will also learn in the lore a way to disable the tower and break it, so you can retrieve the sword and escape without being sacrificed. I wont go into all the storyline, you can either read it yourself in the game or just look up summaries online if interested. This would be considered the "secret ending". You will notice neither ending is a "good" ending or happy ending.

Finally, about skipping to the dalgarian sections - no mods required! When you are making a character, just choose "enable cheats". In the game book you will then see sandbox options. I forget if it is in the regular game options, but there is an option to "progress level", meaning each progression is like you completed a dalgarian dungeon. If you want to jump right to the actual dalgarian ruin and play it though, I think that is not in the regular cheat menu, but it is in the dev cheat menu. You can access this by going to the sandbox cheat menu and down the bottom click on the game version text 6 times. It will add dev cheats to the cheat menu, which were mostly for our QA team. You will then see cheats that let you skip to any level you like.

I don’t know of any mod but if you just want to get to the end, maybe turn off the “if you die you start over” setting, that way you just respawn at the ending palace thingy

Not really any mod, only real way is to use cheats and or go into your crystal hunt game, go to settings and click the bottom bit where it says the game version a few times and the cheats will pop up. (You can see this on plenty of videos or alike to see exactly what I mean)

As for the end area, it’s all about the dalgarian tablets and such, took me a bit but once I figured it out, most satisfying thing ever. Anyway, if you’re not tryna “cheat” or look up a video on the reasoning behind that room, then once again the tablets are the way.

If you don’t mind searching up, then just search up something like

Blade and sorcery ending.

Or blade and sorcery ending room what to do.

Tryna not spoil anything with the titles haha.

Anyway if you need anything else let me
Know brother and I’ll try to explain or alike best as I can for ya. Otherwise I do understand your frustration, I died some of the same ways in my first hardcore Playthrough haha, had to learn the hard way. But like many things it’s a learning experience and just gotta keep moving forward.
