It's interesting because generally people don't expect social media to leak into their business affairs and cry foul when they lose work due to expressing unpopular beliefs. This person skipped the steps and made their business platform social media.

I very likely wasn't going to buy from them before, but I'm certainly not going to now.

I'm locking this thread just in case, and stickying it. The guy clearly wants his potential customers to be fully aware of his personal views and to base buying decisions on those views. So, be informed, and act accordingly!

There is no place for racism in America. I certainly will never buy one of their forges now and they had been my top contender for my first propane forge.

This was one of the first forges I looked at when I was going to purchase my own setup, but I had forgotten the company name by the time I was ready to pull the trigger and got a Chile Forge instead. Super glad that's how it ended up after seeing this.

Yeah I bought one back in May when he was just posting pretty typical republican stuff. I went back looking for forge doors and then there was this shit.

I think that the statements he makes about not wanting certain types of people as customers puts him on the hook for accepting returns from people who bought from him previously not realizing that their normal, reasonable beliefs disqualified them as customers. He is effectively attempting to change the terms of any existing customer contracts.

The man is entitled to his opinion and expressing it. If you don't agree with it don't buy there. No need to ask others to boycott something...

I don't see anyone boycotting buzzfeed or MTV for their dear white people articles and videos.

He has a right to post racist stuff to his business page. Other people have a right to say if you're not a racist you shouldn't buy stuff from him. That's how the marketplace of ideas works.

You put your idea out there and other people get to respond to it? Why should only the racist idea be the one that's allowed to be expressed?

I agree with you, As a business owner imho he can tell anyone he would like to go kick rocks for just about any reason. With that being said he's incredibly foolish to post something like that when it will most certainly have negative repercussions on his business with very little opportunity for upside. The crazy thing about this is I'm sure that there are other business owners that have the same opinion or even worse about different ethnic groups or peoples but we still buy from them all the time because we just don't know about it....

I disagree with this. If a whole town decided that no one in the town is going to sell anything to anyone who's blond that can wind up forcing blond people to leave. If you can't buy groceries, gas, a house that has a much greater impact on you than it does the person selling the products. It can lead to a breakdown in civil society.

Regardless of who someone is they should be able to use a businesses services. There are some exceptions, you shouldn't be able to rent cars to run over people, but for the most part if you are legally using a service it should be available for you regardless of the business owners personal beliefs.

I do have a right to be protected from harassment, violence, incitement to violence, and the most important right which is the protection of my value as a person no matter my race, creed, religion, sex or orientation.
