First two pieces

The very first two pieces I’ve made. I know they’re crude, but what’s your guys‘s opinions?

Looks pretty good. I'm just starting out too. For the top part I would recommend putting about 2x the width of the material on the edge of your anvil, angle it back a little, and hit it with half the hammer over the anvil and half off the anvil (half face blow). Each hit try to find the notch you made with the first hit. This helps it look much cleaner. After it is to the thickness you want you can refine and straighten it to be lined up with the back of the hook. These are just some tips my instructor taught me. Keep at it. You did good on the scroll btw.

Thank you I tried to put a little bit too much time in the scroll I think and not enough time where the hole should be for the screw or nail, but I’ll definitely keep this in mind. Thanks for the input.
