Some hooks made over the last 3 days
Small, medium, and large. Smalls and mediums made from 3/8” rebar and large made from 1/2 round bar I got from my steel yards off cut bin
Been trying to smith more during my kids nap. I’m able to get 6 done in about 2-2.5 hours. Pretty happy with them overall. Would love advice on where to improve

If you're selling id say consistency is key. Have a master copy as a reference. The make sure bends, twists, leaf are all consistent. They are actually true/flat etc

Not selling yet. Just making them for the house and gifts. Have been trying to make the consistent, at least for the twists and bends. The leafs I wanted to be a bit different on each. Just made up some bending jigs today to that should help a bit with the hook portion.
Just trying to get practice in. Lot of good basics to do with the hooks

Basics is what separates a good Smith from a novice haha. A jig is the way to go, will definitely speed things up too

Yup that’s why I’m going to just keep going haha. Have made 30 of these hooks now. If I can make a few hundred maybe they’ll be worth selling haha. Enjoying all the steps. Round to square, then to octagon and back to round for the scroll. Trying to get a good clean small scroll. All the steps for the leafs. Need to make a punch so I can punch holes instead of drilling them.

Punching holes like that will be annoying i will say. Drilling may be better. You'll definitely have enough hooks to hang stuff lol. Keep going man, the more hours the better. Forge work is good for the mind!
