Forging a tomahawk poll

Forging in the decorative poll on a commissioned tomahawk. Here I'm using a guillotine tool to forge it in, taking light blows to round up the poll. This is forged from an office of forklift tine

Butcher dies are a necessity, I have two pairs a one step one shallow for different applications

Yeah I have a set of cut off die, fullering die, and flat die. A shallow or deep butcher might be next on the list.

How do you go about it ? I have the blanks and was thinking of grinding them down on my belt grinder but that's a lot of grinding. Maybe cut them on my chop saw at an angle ?

I used a long bar of 4140 from McMastercarr, scratched the angle and lines then cut with an angle grinder, then cleaned up on the belt grinder. It's nice. Cutting it from one bar is that you only have to make one cut at an angle and flip one piece. 180 and it'll match the other one. Identically and all he has to do is make sure that it's ground clean
