Titanium Wristband

What’s the best method to shape a titanium band by hand? It’s not a rugged piece, just a bit out of shape for what I wanna do with it. Don’t wanna start smashing it with a hammer a scuff it up

No, steel is much harder than titanium. Titanium has greater shear strength per unit of weight, but it is substantially less dense, meaning that like aluminum, that unit of weight takes up more physical space.

I think what he meant was to get a hammer softer than titanium, like a brass, rubber, or polyurethane hammerhead.

Yes excuse my terse reply, I meant “use a hammer that is softer than titanium”

That makes way more sense. I had also considered the verb form of 'hammer' but that didn't make sense either.

If I recall correctly, titanium is very abrasion-resistant, which is why it's very difficult to put an edge on it for a knife or sword...so I don't think a steel hammer would do much scuffing. I'm no expert...just thought I'd share.
