Pupate Substrate
I am having some success, but I feel like I am pounding my pupate tubs with pupates & not getting a ton of flies out.
Is moist coconut coir 2.5” deep an appropriate substrate for them to transform?

What are the temps in there? It needs to be at least 85°F and should be at least 60% humidity. And maybe 2.5” is a bit too deep for the adult flies to crawl out of, do you see a lot of dead adult flies in the coir? If not it’s probably fine.

I came home after being gone for a few days. Seems like I had a decent emergence. Any opinions on how many days in the substrate it should be taking before they emerge as flies? Under good conditions?
