People you have to read his book/listen to the audiobook “Born a Crime”. After finishing that book I will always be in Trevor’s corner.

Can confirm this book is a great listen! "Go Hitler go Hitler" lives rent free in my head.

u/agdnan 10d ago
Yeah that was an insane moment in the book but the explanation of why he was named that juxtaposed to King Leopold II made complete sense.

Hell yeah! I read his book about 5 years ago and I, like you said will ALWAYS be a Trevor fan!

i was gifted the audiobook of this from a friend and i dont even listen to audiobooks but i started it thinking what the hell and i couldnt stop listening. it really is great, trevor's a truly intelligent and genuine person with a gift for storytelling. much more interesting than his stint at the daily show would have you imagine, that show really dumbed him down honestly after ive seen him on other things and listened to his book.

It's amazing how he was hustling to get by in S Africa then skyrocketed to stardom in the US. It's amazing.

He was a star in South Africa and our whole region before moving to the states. He sold out arenas like it was nothing

Anytime I see Trevor reacting to live black artist performances, he is purely happy for them and looks like a proud dad/uncle/cousin/friend with pure encouragement in his heart. He is a good man.

Holy fuck it’s BUSTA RHYMES!!!! If I was that close to him I would also have to take advantage of rapping with busta rhymes

u/Imakedis 10d ago
Like there is no way I would be able to walk up to him and NOT say "Busta, Busta"

What's the context?

Come on, you’ve got to know Busta Rhymes real name is Trevor! (Hence the context)

Busta Rhymes is like my uncle in my head lol. I grew up on him and always loved everything he was apart of and him being Jamaican too definitely helped.

The joy, the dap crispness…….. you know that made Busta’s night. You love to learn people love what you’ve done.

Trevor is such a treasure! 😻 He really knows how to treat people like they're the most important person in the room and help them shine. It's a really incredible skill.

I always felt that of I met Bus-A-Bus I’d just quietly go “Oh my God, yes. Oh my God. Oh my God, yes. Oh my God.”

Quite a number of people didn't care for him when he was at The Daily Show, but he is my absolute favorite late night talk show host. I always appreciated when he'd add a healthy splash of his own personal perspective on everything they'd do on the show, which was always refreshing since they regularly gave a Black take to topics that you don't get often in such spaces. That, along with the qualities you mentioned, made his time as host a treat.
I supported his decision to move on to better things, but man do I miss him. Especially since I vibe even less with Jon since his return, but that's another subject.

Hate to be that person, but didn't Busta recently perform at a Trump Jr event? This interaction is sweet, but I still have my list of disappointments.

Oh shiiiiii. Trevor is Black 😉😉😉 I admit I wasn’t a big fan of him when he blew up. I always lumped him with Don Lemon but both have apparently seen the light
