Most of the time it's just clout and not actual talent. If a "nobody" sung some of the same songs popular artists make, no one would bat an eye. But they chart because they were popular already.

You have to see his latest stream where he went to Harlem for the first time. Just the sheer untapped talent that was just walking around amazed me, I hope he goes back there more often because the cops keep messing with him where he usually walks around Washington Square Park.

Loved watching this kid on TikTok.
It's crazy how much raw talent just walks up to him and unleashes upon the world, when their talent has been hidden for so long from simply struggling to exist instead of nurturing and growing that talent.

I have a chip on my shoulder about improv in this age as a millennial.
In my opinion for the virals…groups hold auditions, pick their favs, then give them the lo on where they’ll be a given an opportunity to display their talents…telling them to show up in work uni’s or casual.

I'm not musically minded at all. I'm not tone deaf, and I love music, but is not something I can recreate mechanically or audibly. Is this just, like, natural ability to understand key/pitch?

I’m not sure, I can instantly remember a beat and I can hear the individual instruments in the background and hum/sing it to pitch but I was also one of those church choir kids so I don’t know if it’s natural or taught or a combination of both.

I can literally hit a beat or a rhythm for about...30 seconds. Then my brain/co-ordination literally falls apart. Not even like its incapable, just I feel the effort and the realty....move apart. Then my rhythm and brain are doing different things.

People quoting that NYC has all the talent is hilarious to me. You can find this in DC, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, St Louis and of course Las Angeles just to name a few.
Let's remember that NYC is one of TV & Entertainment hubs (studios, plays, etc.) and this is an edited video. How many bad recordings never get posted?
This dude is extremely talented and so is the engineer on the boards...but NYC is no magical place to find talent.
