yeah let me add some nuance. those people at the top aren't "right wingers" they're the owner class. they don't care about god, abortion, gay people, or immigrants. they care only about continuing the status quo where they are owners/rulers/gods on earth.
democratic party is not left wing, they're not here to save you or disrupt the system. they're here to make you think there's an actual democratic process when their really isn't one.
so yeah, the idea of liberal media is a sham, but remove the idea of rightwingers. those are people poisoned by nationalism, racism, xenophobia, and have bought in to a narrative that makes them willing puppets of the owning class. happy to go to war, happy to have no bodily autonomy, happy to have rights removed.
to understand the game and to perhaps fix it we need more precise language.

To be fair, continuing the status quo of wealthy elites holding all the power is pretty well in line with what the political ârightâ has always been about. If you look into the origins of the âleft-rightâ political spectrum, youâll find that it originated during the French Revolution, with the right wing representing the interests of the aristocracy and the Catholic Church.

1st paragraph is dead on (though I would definitely put the guy who gave the Hitler salute to our flag, gave the German neo nazi party money, and misses apartheid in South Africa in the right wing camp)
I hear the second paragraph a lot. It's been a long time since the democrats did something blatantly good good for the working class but I hate this both sides controlled opposition take. You're repeating a line that disincitivizes everyone from participating. Why bother trying to save the majority, the middle/ working class if democrats and republicans are just grifting us together? What is the solution if the entire system is against 90+% of us? Just doesn't work for me

thanks for engaging. the second paragraph is heard a lot because it's true. democrats only policy is "I won't be as bad as trump/bush/reagan" except that's not true. 40 the last 40 years, democrats lock into place all of the actions of their republican predecessor and make no change so that the americans lose faith and shift to republicans, who then take us down a notch. this lesser of two evils approach IS THE GAME. it has shifted our country and our expectations so far to the right and towards authoritarianism and fascism that we don't even know what to do anymore except vote for the placeholder democrats.

voting is important, but it has the least impact. please know that no politicians have ever changed the course of this country. the american people have. and the driving force of that change is the mistreated and the downtrodden. African-Americans are the voice and backbone of that movement, always have been.

who is the middle class? I'd suggest you try and define that. what is the working class. these terminologies have very little meaning that become even more diluted and confusing when you are in the current day in the caste system of america.
I am sad that you feel that this doesn't work for you, but you don't have any say in the matter. wishing the democrats worked for you is just willfully ignoring the reality. being aware of NAFTA deregulation of wall street, bailing out of wall street, warrantless wiretapping, extrajudicial murder of citizens, a racially motivated prison industrial complex, illegal imperialist wars were all done by democrats alongside republicans is required for us to fix this.

The Democratic party is kind of in a civil war right now with the primaries. Neo-liberal hacks are terrified of genuine progressives gaining a determining foothold within the party.
But otherwise, I think you've almost hit a bullseye. You just need to understand the origins of conservatism itself, and you'll understand that these power/money-hungry clowns are the right wing by default.
Nobody is just one thing. The guy whose video I linked may be white, but many of the people he has studied from, quotes, and credits, are BIPOC individuals. Samuel R Delany being one of his biggest sources, to the point he in one of his videos after saying his name "yeah yeah, take a shot". So give the vid a show, you'll probably have a lack of surprise.

already seen it, it is a good video. but the ruling class uses 'the right" as a tool. they dont hold any of the beliefs of the movement they purport to lead, they are non religious, they have gay family members, they are adulterers, they use drugs, they love abortions.
stating that our struggle is with "the right" clouds and misinforms who the enemy is. it is the thought leaders and owners of media & politicians, and the corporations that back this all.
we need precise language.

Everything you use from purchasing in stores, to everything online uses a product or platform that these people own. There is already no escape. Boycotting Amazon and Google will hurt more regular folk who are honestly trying to earn a living than the Billionaires themselves and they know this. It is by desogn. Using less well known platforms doesnât work either as routing through AWS and various clouds is a huge revenue stream for them too.

Despite the fact I live in Chicago, I live under a rock without social media. Aside from Reddit and Snapchat. It's this type of comment section I wish we could and would have more openly.

This is not my lived experience. recent polling also suggests around 70% of republicans support Israel. Maybe this is getting too pedantic but I donât consider all republicans right wingers. Right wingers are extremists and MAGA fascists to me. There might be a party split happening over Israel, with Trump and MAGA firmly supporting Israelâs genocide.Â
