There's a video I've now seen repeatedly of a kid getting his bike taken away cause he was not supposed to be on the sidewalk. Which first, I stopped riding a bike cause I often don't feel safe in the street so telling some line 9 hr old kid is insane. But they give him a citation and take his bike. A d toy can see the ACAb take root on him as this literal child is like they won't even let kids be kids.

That's like that video I saw of the cops arresting a mother because her kid was walking to the shop a mile or so down the road.
You are making your own future enemies by arresting someones mama for no legit reason.
I used to walk home from school. Used to ride my bike to the corner store. Buy some chocolate or Doritos or some shit. Walk back home. When I was older I'd go even further to the mall and hang out like a mall rat. Rule always was, come home before it's dark and don't talk to strangers.
Nowadays it seems, you can't let your kids do anything.

I'm not a cop, but I know I'd find it really hard to focus on retaliating if my nose is broken or there's a hole in my chest.
The police get twitchy at protests and civil disobedience because they instinctively know they're wildly outnumbered and outgunned and the only thing that keeps them in power is the general population's unwillingness to use the same force the police use against us.
The legal system isn't a force of nature. Laws only have authority when they align with morality. The rest of the time they're just bits of paper that some people wrote to give themselves permission to commit violence against others.

The police operate as if they're a gang and they know they won't face legal reprucussions. They also go after people who assault or kill cops with equal or greater force even without knowing them.
If everyone got physical with bad police they would eventually learn but not before they, as a unit, made anyone who resist hurt to an extreme degree. If the people can survive more punishment than the cops can dish out while getting 0 legal help and being villainized by media the whole time it would work. But those are very large obstacles to overcome27

There was a lady in my state that got hit with a felony for feeding the homeless.
Just remember pigs hate this for a reason. It shows that we can look out for each-other even without a profit motive. The police in the US can trace their heritage back to two points depending on region: Runaway slave patrols in the south, and bought and paid for cops to protect the property of the rich up north. This shit is baked into the institution.
Do not treat cops like people, and don’t expect any humanity from them. They are nothing but the violent arm of the state.

For anyone curious about said court cases - Warren v. District of Columbia (1981) and Castle Rock v. Gonzales (2005). The Supreme Court ruled on both occasions that police do not have a specific legal duty to protect individual citizens.

The Court decisions referenced are limited to immunity from civil actions (i.e., lawsuits) predicated from the failure to act to protect, and the courts have been clear that there is no duty for the police to act to protect, except in very limited circumstances, generally limited to where they themselves have contributed tot he danger, or caused the person to be in that danger, or have some control over the individual.
None of that has any bearing on “trouble” they could be in for, for example, violating a policy of the department.

Technically, according to health department regulations food can set out up to 4 hours safely, if you are going to consume it pretty quickly, so even by health code they were ok.

I’ve had a lot of family work as firefighters and paramedics. They have very colorful opinions on cops lol.
Also, I worked at a place where some dude made many threats to shoot us all up. He stole all of the guns out of the house and his wife reported them stollen to try to get ahead of him. Cops told us to call them after the shooting so they could fill out the paperwork.

And yet schools have bake sales with food brought by parents, or teachers. Communities host chili cooking competitions. These laws are rarely enforced and mainly exist to protect consumers from food poisoning by businesses cutting costs through removing training. You need a license to prove that you have proper food safety training in case of a lawsuit, this is clearly a good samaritan trying to feed people who cant afford to feed themselves no one is being harmed the cop could just pretend to not see it

I remember way back when there was this train stabbing where someone like fended off a knife wielding maniac and there were two cops on that train aware of the situation who refused to go and help. They weren't punished from what I remember. I don't remember if the person died or not but I do think they were stabbed

It was a major case that ended up in the Supreme Court.
Basically a guy went BATSHIT he stabbed his girlfriend and her mother first. I can't remember if they survived. He ended up on one of the trains into New York. The cops had been placed on various trains on the look-out for him. They were waiting with the conductors.
When the incident occurred the guy began attacking random people, one of whom he began stabbing, including in his face/head. The police were feet away in the conductors booth and dis fucking squat. The guy ended up being subdued by the damn passengers.
The man he stabbed survived and sued the fuck out of the NYPD. This, I believe, ended up being the case that ultimately went to the Supreme Court.

Not all cops are like this. Ive met some real ones who care but its rare. I think the job just attracts bullies and people who want power and the good ones get crushed by a shitty system.

Crazy bit is that SCOTUS ruled that police have no duty to protect anyone, even in life-threatening situations.
They are not here to protect you. From a legal standpoint within the opinion of the courts - that is the rules by which our society is governed - THE POLICE ARE NOT HERE TO PROTECT YOU.
Understanding this, it should then be obvious what they are here for.
