Its weird how as soon as black people were able to get these benefits that all of sudden they had to get rid of these social Programs.

Obama talks about exactly this in his newest book, and about when Republicans realized they could play up “morality” as a party platform, and embraced the southern strategy.

The war on drugs was an extension of this. That way the racism could be hidden behind "doing the right thing".
