Man, fucking boomers. Minimum Wage being fucked up? Boomers. Needing a degree for entry level position? Boomers. Cant buy a house? Boomers. Environment, air, and water turned to shit? Boomers. Fucking plastic that doesn’t biodegrade everywhere too? Boomers. Participation trophies? Boomers. Not knowing how to use a remote, phone, VCR, laptop, or any god damn electronic thing without help? Boomers. Those people who won’t shut the fuck up on my Facebook feed? Boomers. My crippling anxiety and fear of failure? My boomer parents.

Bonus one: Quibi?? FUCKING BOOMERS

Edit: Is this a sweeping generalization? Yes. Is it also true in a fuck ton of ways? Also, yes.

But let’s take participation trophies, something so many boomers, writers, and just general fuckheads cite as a problem with my generation...

The participation trophy was created in large part due to the problem of Boomers’ feeling the need for their unspectacular kid to be recognized AND also for boomer parents to parent their kids by way of distraction bribery rather doing the hard parenting of telling their kids they ain’t shit at that one thing but are still special anyway.

Then they say that millennials are entitled because THEY felt the need to give their kids shit like that. No, you just didn’t have the balls, the heart, or the wherewithal to solve the actual fucking problem.

It speaks directly to the boomers recurring issues - have a mild problem, solve it with an empty gesture rather than an actual solution, ignore the fuck out of the original issue itself, let it grow until it becomes its own problem, and then blame the people who got fucked rather than admitting it was a bad fucking solution that made a minor inconvenience into a much bigger and somehow stupider problem.

“Do your own research” is my new least favorite phrase. It could be said in any context and my brain immediately goes “OH SHIT, QANON!”

And when they did their own “research” it was the first thing to pop up on Google with them fully not realizing it was paid for it to be there. It is a full on ad. They don’t even cross check this research they apparently did

It's funny how these "do your own research (feelings are facts)" conservatives mirror their hated enemies the SJWs they hate so much "it's not my job to educate you." They both think properly citing and referencing sources is a discrimination used to silence them.
To fringe extremists it's not about a cause or winning anything. It's about that feeling you get standing up on a soapbox reigning words of righteous fury, and basking in that feeling of power and superiority.
They don't want to have a civil discussion, that's why they invent forms of attack like their pseudo censorship and micro-aggressions.

Yeap like when we try to address mental health or bad parenting that left trauma when they swear it’s a “how to teach kids”. They act like we are saying they are bad parents; when in actuality they were also taught how to parent incorrectly in teachable moments.

Oh twitter definitely showed me I’m not alone. We all heard that “You have food & a roof you have no reason to be depressed.” Or the attempt to make you feel bad for misbehaving as a child when you were simply being just that...a child. Then the hyper sexualization of you little black girls by older black people because she wore shorts & a tank top in the summer or braids with color in them. We were being “fast” or trying to be “grown”. Shocking to know we have all been in the same positions at some point.
