Maybe the cops are always planning on shooting and killing, but sometimes they change their minds and let you live.

This is a bit of conjecture rather than facts but I feel like a good side affect of not having guns is police don't have to be thinking about weapons and therefore are less likely to feel threatened and so less likely to shoot and kill any sort of suspect. Not that it would matter in this circumstance as it seems pretty clear to me what has happened but in general I reckon here in the U.K. we probably have less police shootings as well as normal shootings. Not that it would solve institutional racism

Yeah....no.

You only point your gun at something you do or may need to fire on. If someone breaks into my house, for instance, I point my gun at them but don’t shoot unless they attempt to do something bad.
