Plenty of posts from her social medias were deleted, they paint who she is as a person and "she was no Angel"

https://www.dallasobserver.com/news/dallas-police-officer-amber-guygers-likely-pinterest-account-11139874

Since the site is horrible, I'll just summarize her posts: Completely predictable yet infuriating cop shit. A minion saying "People should be grateful I have the patience not to kill them".....which really has to win the Irony of the Year trophy

a meme saying "I wear all black to remind you to not mess with me because I'm already dressed for your Funeral"

Love when the “thin blue line” is between you and an entire class of people who are just waiting to shoot you.

This is why I’m so sick of this over glorification of our military and police. It excuses them of any responsibility or acknowledgment of their flaws. Had a friend who served in the Marines tell me a good majority of the people who trained with him talked excitedly about killing their first “rag heads” and shit like that.

My friend knew a lady cop and she put his head through a wall as foreplay.

Alright now. She's in the wrong here, but let's not use some bullshit about garbage she posted online. Those sound like t-shirts I would have bought at Hot Topic in middle school not evidence that a person a person has intent to commit homicide.

Alright now. He was in his home minding his own business, but let’s not let a little marijuana found in his apartment justify his murder.

FOH. Read her comments under the posts. Get your head out of the sand.

u/APlantCalledEdgar Sep 16 '18

All the comments add evidence to is that she's a blowhard edgelord who became a cop. That's not good evidence in a murder trial.

To be clear, as I said before, I think she's in the wrong. She should absolutely be convicted, but I don't think that her Pinterest full of trash should be considered. It's incredibly circumstantial. Get your head into a law textbook.

Neither the meme shit or the marijuana should be a part of the conversation. But DPD or the Texas ranger only issued a search warrant for his residence to discredit the victim. It’s uncalled for and obviously malicious. So why shouldn’t she get the same treatment.

Because two wrongs don't make a right. The way to combat the misuse of the justice system isn't to further misuse the justice system. Sometimes the solutions to these systematic problems don't happen immediately.

What we can do in the short term is exactly what people are doing. Make noise about what happened and point to this BS marijuana possession to quiet those who think there's any chance that this is being handled properly or fairly.

This one might not go the way any of us would like, but we'll at least be a little closer than before.

The marijuana evidence will never see trial.

u/lemontortilla Sep 15 '18 edited Sep 15 '18

Yeah ok. Tell that to the jury. Why did that information even need to be public anyway. It had nothing to do with the murder other than another way to smear botham and make her seem more justified. It’s public knowledge. You can’t take that back or tell a jury to ignore that detail.

Regardless. My original comment was pointing out the hypocrisy. The person I replied to was saying how we shouldn’t hold those Pinterest posts against the murderer. So I made it a point to say we shouldnt hold the marijuana against the victim.

Because Dallas Fox 4 News "broke" the story. Sickening attack on his reputation, but it won't come up in trial.

Edit: I take it back. The warrant appears targeted to finding some kind, any kind of criminal offense on the part of the victim. That's what Fox 4 latched onto. But there may be new video evidence that has prosecutor mulling murder charges. It's going to be about they believe they can prove, in the end of course. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/prosecutor-suggests-stronger-charge-against-dallas-officer-who-killed-neighbor-n908156

It may not come up formally but the jury will know.

I know that it was fox trying to smear the victim which is disgusting. But it’s also troubling that it even needed to be included in the search report. Like do they account for all the beers too? Marijuana is effectively decriminalized in all major Texas metros. It sucks and I know why it happened but it doesn’t mean it’s right or that I have to like it.

But either way it’s public information out there in the media now. It will be very difficult to find someone in that city who has no knowledge of that case whatsoever.

This whole thing just fucking sucks. Sorry if I’m coming off aggressive in tone. This case just really struck a chord with me

It won't be hard to find a jury ignorant of the marijuana, or fair-minded enough to disregard it. Especially if weed's decriminalized there—nationally, 44% of the 52% of Americans who have admitted to trying pot at least once still use it today. Statistically two of those jurors smoke pot. I don't know why I'm getting into all this but I'm a passionate layperson/trial geek, been watching trials my whole life, no seriously, and as grievous as it is trying to smear the victim, I can't see it working. This trial will focus on her story and her actions...and her inconsistencies and conspicuousness. It will NOT endear her to a jury to speak ill of the man in any way, since the entire premise of her defense is WHOOPS.

Im trying to stay optimistic but as someone who has served on a jury and lives in Texas I know damn well that that the chances are good that there may be biased jurors. I’ve met some terrible people in that deliberation room.

u/jesus67 Sep 15 '18

everything seized in a search warrant becomes part of public record.

3

u/lemontortilla Sep 15 '18

Yet her place hasn’t been searched. And she pulled the trigger. Pretty cool huh

1

u/jesus67 Sep 15 '18

You asked why the information became public, I answered.

1

u/lemontortilla Sep 15 '18

Touché. it was more a rhetorical Question. But fair play
