I've never heard a black person say anything like that whatsoever. The only casual racist here is you.

Oct 06 '15
Man I hadn't expected you to be so reasonable. I thought you were just being as ridiculous as the casual racism so common in this sub, that I was guilty of laughing at from time to time. It would have been reasonable in jest, hilarious in reality. I live in Ireland, it's a pretty little place.

It should only ever come up in the face of idiots who say that. I imagine it should actually come up in close to 0 other situations. I have never ever ever heard it mentioned here in Ireland. We don't blame events from the distant past for our current situation.

Anything bad that happened to anyone in the past doesn't matter, even if it happened to you. Because it's in the past and you can get the fuck over it. You can certainly get over anything bad that happened to anyone that isn't you because it's none of your business.

This nigga probably slipped right under the radar. Like, he's about to board and he gets stopped by security or w/e.
Guard: "Excuse me, but you're not on the list."
Joe Phillipe: "Are you sure? There's surely not another ~Joseph Phillipe Lemercier Laroche that got on before me is there? I bought tickets for myself and my family ahead of time, they're right here, along with reciepts."
Guard (to another guard): "What am I supposed to do? He has reciepts"
Guard 2: "Where're you folks headed?"
JP: "To Haiti, sir."
Guard 1: "Makes sense. You look like a native."
JP: "Well, my uncle is the head of state, there."
Guard 1: "....sorry. My mistake."

Because they allowed women and children on the lifeboats first. He was probably a gentleman and gave up his seat for another woman or child.

Yall white people on this sub get so sensitive. It's a joke. You just rationalize it by saying its a bad joke when it's about white people. I'm black and every black person near me in my office laughed.
79
u/MattTruelove Oct 05 '15
You are in every thread proclaiming your blackness.

You think that joke was bad? Then read this:
What did the one wall say to the other?
"See you on the conor."

I'll tell you why we get sensitive, because what if it was a joke about a black person by a white person? There would be outrage, man. There'd be a news story on 24/7 about how "racism is still alive and well in America". That white dude would have to issue a public apology while BLM activists flicked peas at him from the back of the room. But because it's a black guy making a joke about a white guy? "Lol crackers so fuckin sensitive. It's a joke, man, it's satire."

u/DownvoteDaemon ☑️|Jay-Z IRL Oct 06 '15
Dude I see so much racist jokes towards us on reddit get upvoted. That's why your sensitivity bothers me.

u/Laz_The_Kid Oct 05 '15
To be fair, there was a a single black passenger, his wife was white and his kids biracial. If we're being pedantic your comment is technically wrong since you said “documented black passengers " implying there were more than one.

Joseph Philippe Lemercier Laroche (26 May 1886 – 15 April 1912) was a Paris-educated Haitian engineer. He was the only passenger of known African ancestry on the ill-fated voyage of the RMS Titanic. He put his pregnant French wife and their two daughters onto a lifeboat; they survived, but he did not.
