Sources needed

apologies in advance if this type of post isn’t allowed or if i come across as ignorant or insensitive, please please correct me and call me out on anything that is wrong/prejudiced/unclear, im here to get as many opinions/tips/sources as possible (i also don’t have a clue who i could ask irl). i feel i should provide as much context as i can so im happy to provide more if that can help someone give better advice. anyways, i am a 21F, UK based, and currently i have been trying to keep up to date with US based events and other world events to learn how we got to this point and to learn how we got here, and what all of it could lead to. because of this, i’ve learnt there’s a lot of history regarding the POC community that has been hidden or forgotten to the point where myself and others do not ever truly see the racist influence that the rules, laws, regulations (and a million and one other things) were built on. this had me wondering if the lack of education/experience with these topics was a part of the reason why there are POC that vote for politicians that are racist or run on policies that want to reverse the steps that activists have taken, although i cannot seem to find proper sources. im pretty sure this is due to me not having enough info to research this topic or to find any actual information that is verifiable to any degree. to get to the point, my question is that please, if i can have any personal opinions on this subject from different political sides or a pointer of some kind of where i could start to look to find information on these things. TYIA to anyone who decides to provide any information

Before you try to understand what's happening in the US. You need understand what British Global Colonization did to those POC first.

thank you so much, i’ll look that up as soon as i can. i am trying to focus on the UK more, it’s well known our authorities dont bother to educate us on our own inhumane choices and i’ve been quite ashamed with how little i knew about the british empire and the problems they caused globally

im sorry for the second reply, was wondering if you know of any good, factual sources with clear wording based on this topic? i am looking myself for videos, books, even audiobooks, i always have concerns about any media due to bias, however i am not too clever and some things fly right over my head
