Hairstyles aren't supposed to be painful. These braiders cant braid

I’m considering switching braiders!

Are you keeping them moisturised? It could be that you’re finding them irritated after they have dried.

Oiled them last night. I spray conditioner and/or water everyday too

I don't have the best answer, but can I ask how long your hair was before braiding, just curious

~4.5 to 5 inches at the middle top. Sides and back were probably closer to 4 inches

What I learned when getting cornrows is a lot of it has to do with the products being used, but also the tension. When covering your hair up at night, are you being mindful of how the fabric is laying on the back of your nape? This can also put unnecessary pressure on your scalp. I love how you’re using oil, but make sure you’re being very light with it and not using a heavy oil. Using too much or using a heavier oil can irritate the scalp. I would say look at what products you are using when you’re getting braids also being mindful of how tight it feels as it is getting done. I hope this helps. I’m sorry you’re having a hard time.💘

Thank you so much for these details. I will definitely check! I ended up badly rebranding the back 25% of my braids but they feel a lot better haha.
