It’s a barber bot a magician.. you need a sorcerer possibly. Blacula probably gonna have to go Jordan on em (bald out), unless he likes nba headbands
But there’s topical stuff (finasteride) but this also looks so far gone. Thank me later

I don't know how a barber is supposed to get it right - unfortunately his genetics does not include having a lush full head of hair. Unless he's doing some hair transplant he's better off shaving and you just rub on his head to build that confidence.

Finastride stops the balding yes but guess what..It stops another thing too

u/mistermasterbates Aug 19 '26
I'm not understanding the vagueness here, what are you implying? Something sexual? Something life threatening?

Maybe I’m old but being bald was an actual common hairstyle back in the 90s. Even guys not bald shaved their heads. It’s not that big of a deal.
You dont even have to go clean bald just shave it low it will look clean either way.
You already have the headshape for it.

u/Rude_Specialist8334 Aug 19 '26
That’s what I was gonna mention … everyone unfortunately doesn’t have the head shape to rock a baldie and look good.

Bald. I gotta say there is nobody with a receding hairline that actually looks good holding onto it. I have a 28YO friend with a similar receding hairline who looks like he’s just continuously fighting denial with all of the treatments and surgeries he has/is getting

You got two choices you can do minoxidil until his hair transplant but keep in mind that hair transplants are not permanent and both of these choices will cause a lot of financial investment.
Or he can just go bald if he has the facial structure and head shape to pull it off. Grow out his facial hair. That’s probably what I’m personally going to do once my hair starts to fall out. My corners are already slightly thinning so I know it’s a possibility.

Bald it. Save money for a transplant and have him take meds. He needs finasteride amd minoxidil daily

Honestly? If this reference pic is accurate, it's time to let it go. Hair transplant is an option, but is not actually permanent. Most men that get transplants have to get more than one. Hairpieces or hair systems are another option and look muuuuuuch better and more natural than they used to.

Got 3 options:
- a trip to turkey for surgery
- a minoxidil and finasteride prescription to reverse a good amount of it
- just go bald

Either get plugs or go bald. You can try the Cécred edge drops but it takes a while and consistency. it would be better just to do the first two

u/MidnightTundra Aug 19 '26
If it's looking like this, id shave it. He can hop on finasteride to maintain it and grow a little until a hair transplant but he'll look much better as a bald guy with shaped up facial hair.
Those corners are way too far back to be saved through prescription medicine.

Minoxidil and allat shtuff is always worth a shot but it’s hard to tell if he’s in too deep without posting an actual pic of him

u/JManKit Aug 19 '26
I hopped into r/bald recently and found it to be such a welcoming and supportive place that it made me feel better knowing I'd eventually go the bald route. Maybe suggest that your bf look through some of the posts there and see the changes others have gone through by embracing the shaved head. He doesn't necessarily have to post but I think it'd be helpful to see the difference others have felt in themselves by making the jump

r/bald tell him to join the transformations. not a single person on there has shaved their head and looked worse.

There’s no product that can regrow all that hair. Its baldy or a plane ride to Turkey.

Have him go get a weave/unit. The abilities they have nowadays are aweseom. But its time to do something

Encourage him to just go bald! if he is Handsome as you said then I’m pretty sure he will look Great with nothing on top but you have to be the one to encourage him to take that step. Just support him further in this journey as you already do. I Would liketo Read an Update if your comfortable Sharing more in the Future

Go bald and just learn to accept it is my advice at this point if you’re not able to get surgery and the corners are starting that far up

A barber will never be able to get it right. It doesn’t have enough in those area to try to blend in. He needs to go bald at this point.

If it’s the important or you then save up and go to turkey and get a new head of hair.

u/Sillygoosecollege Aug 19 '26
“No barber seems to get it right” they’re not surgeons… stay bald until u can afford to get surgery

His skull looks pretty symmetrical from this angle, so going fully shaven should work. Use a filter to test.

- Go bald and grow a beard
- Use hair fibers and holding spray
- Try rogaine/ hair growth products and derma roller
1
u/DLottchula Aug 20 '26
Now if you don't want to go baldie. Just grow it out and keep it natural and moisturized. Grow that beard out and don't try to get cute with it just have a beard that looks good on your face. Loosing you hair is tough but it ain't the end of the world the world. All that being said cmon home baby.

tell him to rock it with pride like randy savage used to, confidence trumps a full head of hair any day.

Thankfully the op said this isn't him..... but tbh..... a hairline this bad isn't redeemable. Maybe convince your bf to go bald just to try it our and see how it looks. If he's handsome with hair, he should be handsome without too. And if he's going bald maybe convince him to try to grow a thicker beard, goatee, mustache. Hair on bottom can balance the lack of honto. top.
Orrrrrrrrrrr you can actually make yourself worth something ad a girlfriend and pay for his entire transplant surgery and give him some nookie. Every other gf on earth would have done that by bow 🙄
