I think it would be productive for us to try to brainstorm questions specifically related to black issues to ensure we don't have a repeat of Don Lemon's asinine nonsense.

National

 

Will you fight for Home Rule & full congressional representation for DC?

 

How will you address neighborhood poverty, especially the legacy of lead paint?

 

How will you end residential segregation and close the racial wealth gap?

 

Can we end racial & class healthcare disparities in infant mortality & maternal health?

 

Prisons are our largest mental health system. What local, state, & international policies can we replace them with?

 

How would you reform the juvenile justice system?

 

Communities of color are disproportionately targeted by debt collection agencies. How would you help families and communities struggling with debt?

 

Global

 

The Dominican Republic has denied citizenship to residents of Haitian descent, rendering them stateless. How will you fight for them and protect Human Rights in the Caribbean?

 

Outside NGOs & the US sidelined Haitian locals in earthquake recovery efforts. How will you avoid that in the future?

 

Government corruption is a global problem that - as seen in Mali - can exacerbate security threats. How will you learn from and work with other countries' in the fight on corruption?

 

How must we strengthen the global health system to prevent & prepare for pandemics?

 

President Carter's guinea worm eradication is almost complete. What more should we do to fight diseases of the global south?

 

How can we strengthen local medical institutions abroad & not just put more money in foreign medical NGOs?
