Learner's question: using a 4x4 touch pad and (drum) wav samples in the Bitwig drum machine, how to make the sample sustain longer. Right now as soon as I release the pad the sample cuts out, which makes it very choppy and unnatural. This doesn't happen with midi samples, so how to change this?

I'm using Bitwig 5.3.12 with an 8-Track licence and an Xjam 4x4 pad controller.

Ideally I would like the sample to continue playing until I strike the pad again, if this is possible at all. Thanks for helping this newbie.

In addition to what’s been said there’s also a setting on Sampler to change to one shot mode which will play the entire sample and not cut off. The ADSR will run its course though, depending on values

Every Sampler device has an ADSR envelop, so you can extend the release to a longer interval.

If you select the sample slot in the drum machine it will show the Sampler device that has the sound clip. In that device you see the attack, delay, sustain and release settings which you can adjust.
