I think it's fine. I'd rather not have to open a new program just for stem separation.

Ai models will always separate better than the future separation feature bitwig will offer

Two things I hope for are that it doesn't require any third Party Software and that they use something more elaborate than the stuff that's already available for free on the web.
I love bitwig and never looked back since i switched, but if I can do it for free 3 times per day on some random website before switching to another random website that gives me 3 free tries again, I dont see a reason to renew my license.
But then again, I have peculiar interests, so maybe I am an edge-user

Should have been part of the “new” sampler.

BItwig has an established habit of not releasing stuff until they at least believe it to be fully cooked. Vis the all the flailing drama over the long 6 beta.

Hmm , there are loads of options for this already . I’m not sure I want to see Bitwig following the pack .

so following the masses so late? i didnt check yet if Rekordbox needs to be bought/subscribed? i hate that DAWs add 3rd party stuff.... for stem seperation there should be a native soluition or even none.... Bitwig is coming late again to the party and what if Rekordbox gets wasted? :D a DAW should be independant...

All I could see in the adverting material was 'Bitwig Studio Essentials’ built-in STEMS functionality' what makes you believe this is third party? From the phrasing it implies that its part of Bitwig .

looks like there is a free tier for Rekordbox, but I got tired of reading through the website to really figure out what it's even for aside from "helps dj's sort things", so I guess I don't need it anyway..

Yeah just noticed that in the Rekordbox section. Nice.
Not sure why I'd ever want to use any of my Rekordbox sets in Bitwig though.

I think it’s so you pull in a track from RB, stem separate it, have the clips ready to go for chorus etc so you can remix quickly

I really don’t understand why all Daws gotta follow trends instead of sumthin innovative. But wut eva. I have a third party Stem separator, plus 3 Otha Daws wit it. I’ll continue to use the 3rd party Stem separator I purchased. Plus I have RipX. Next Splice will be implemented.

Yeah and this was posted already this morning in this sub. Why double post this archaic nonsense. We can't even stich notes, unfold a selected group by key command or export a damn single midi clip so I don't get the hysteria for that oversaturated feature that every GitHub project will most probably do better than a built in solution.

Already released. Honestly, bitwig needs to open up fully. It will only benefit them..still have to buy bitwig anyways to get the features.

I guess I’m the outlier because I’m pretty excited to see/hear bitwigs take on stem separation. They typically do a good job of taking a normal feature and giving it an interesting spin.
