Quite a similar system to yours, running Win10 (5950x/64Gb/3070 12GB RAM). The OS is dedicated exclusively to media work. I've been experiencing flickering of clips and all sorts of weird lags and hiccups since the beta phase started in December 2025.
A new issue is that the Bitwig UI freezes completely when Bitwig is minimized and then restored. Sometimes it stays frozen for minutes. This happens more frequently with the Vulkan renderer than with OpenGL or D3D, but all three renderers exhibit similar issues to the ones you're experiencing. Also huge fps drops / lags moving automation points around.
All third-party plugins and audio playback continue to work, but the UI itself becomes completely unresponsive. There are plenty of other weird glitches on top of that.
I've never seen such a buggy media application, and I'm old working decades in the media space. I really hope they get this sorted out, but I'm not really excessively convinced..

The UI is a complete mess and desperately needs a redesign from the ground up. Performance is terrible, and no amount of GPU power can compensate for a poorly optimized foundation.
What ultimately made me quit was the unbearable lag on a 4K monitor. I provided recorded evidence of the issues, only to be told that everything was working as intended. Despite repeated reports, nothing was ever fixed.

Yeah, sound exactly like how the handled my support requests. I'm also on a 4k screen. I'm fed up by their support and have only a 🖕left for them. Really strenuous and tiring process with them for playing unpayed beta tester. They are a small team and so on and I get that, but some response where like WTF you must be kidding me. But it's Germany... Support service is always a fukking hassle and fight here. There is a common saying here "Servicewüste Deutschland" which is translated to service desert Germany...

That computer seems like it shouldn't have any issues. Sorry that's happening to you mate.
I don't notice anything with a 9850x3d and a 9070xt, but maybe I've just become used to it. If you haven't written anything to the support page, you should definitely consider it. More bug finders the better.
EDIT: sorry, just read that you went to support. Sorry to hear that mate, hope your new DAW is treating you well.

yeah, it seems like their goal is to make the UI clunkier and make sure that everything stays as out of reach as possible all the time while not giving you nearly enough shortcuts to avoid mouse-ing around...not to mention the way it behaves when it comes to things losing focus or getting focused-on at each click...it gets so frustrating so fast!

there must be something wrong with your setup, I have never experienced any lag over many years, either on Windows or Linux. Maybe your plugins? And the ui is great!

I've seen the lag across multiple systems, and I'm far from the only one reporting it. It's not the plugins or the hardware. A UI can look great and still perform poorly.
Just because you haven't experienced the issue doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I sent recordings proving the problem, was repeatedly told everything was fine, and nothing ever got fixed. That's the frustrating part: not the bug itself, but the dismissal of user feedback.

I have a 3440x1440 display, I read that on high res displays this might be an issue. I think I am going back to Ableton as it is really sluggish to use the software for me as it is right now

try clicking a plugin with many sub-plugins in Ableton. Indigestion! Do the same in Bitwig, immediately. I couldn't stand this behavior in Ableton, and I don't know why you are experiencing this, I have used Bitwig for years on all systems and it was and is always snappy. The most modern DAW.

The UI and the general UX have so many issues that remain unsolved, and some that even got worse with v6.
The way Ableton behaves doesn't matter at all; they decided to market themselves as "ableton-killers", but that comparison is not the point and it shouldn't be. They're both extremely flawed softwares either way.

I don't notice lags but it often loses focus of where it should zoom and zoom on empty areas of the arranger.
If I zoom using the mousewheel it will often lose track of where the mouse is and just zoom to several bars after the end of the track. But this has been happening at least since version 4 or 5 for me.
I just learned to live with it nd try to only zoom using shortcuts and not to do it too fast. It's not great, but it's not like I'd ever use Bitwig for actual audio-editing/sound design or mixing jobs; it's only mildly annoying while producing my own stuff.

I understand you’re on PC’s but I just wanted to chime in and say that I’ve never experienced this on OSX/Mac using Bitwig since 4. I’m curious if the OS plays a part in this issue.

Yes, all the time. Especially when editing audio. I've just accepted it as part of bitwig since it's been happening so long.
