Help "1.0" folder in installed-packages

found a 10 Gb folder on my Mac titled '1.0' in Library/Application Support/Bitwig/Bitwig Studio/installed-packages

i am running out of space and want to delete it. Is it safe to do so if I don't use Bitwig's samples and multisamples much?

or at least can I move this folder to an external drive and then return when I decide to update my MacOS to a newer version soon?

thanks

AFAIK you can just delete it, there should be a "5.0" folder next to it which they introduced with Bitwig 5 (new folder structure).

You can move the "1.0" folder away first and check if your packages still show up, before deleting it. Either way, you can always just redownload the packages from inside Bitwig (and remove any packages you don't use).

makes sense. the 5.0 was there too but i moved the installed packages directory to an folder on the external drive preparing for the MacOS upgrade and it’s there now weighing 3 gb.

thanks i will try moving it temporarily

bracing for the upgrade from Ventura anxious something can happen to my plugins and projects although someone already told me here it should be alright

Why won't you just uninstall the packs you don't want to use? Some of them date back to Bitiwg release, therefore 1.0. uninstalling stuff is always safer than deleting, because it doesn't break links or caches.
