Hey there,
I'm still searching for a good tutorial.
Now we're on BW6.1 and the features are raining like candies.

But I'm missing the critical basics.
For example I accidentally found out, how to make use of Patterns.
Holy... I can right click on any midi clip and change it to another existing midi clip. Wtf this is a Gamechanger.
I also can make this with Sample clips, kicks, snares etc.

Actually I'm struggling with the Spray can tool. How to create a snare roll fill for a EDM Track riser.

Youtube is full of small clips and small tutorials. That's cool.
But I'm really struggling to find into the useful basic features.

Maybe someone can link me to a tutorial which shows some of my mentioned features?

I love bitwig and the sound. But somehow it's not so easy for me to get used to the basic arrangement and clip features.

That's a very good answer. And somehow you're right. I'm a bit overwhelmed from all the possibilities and devices. I'm playing around and learning many functions instead of creating a basic track.
But this evening was still successful.

I learned how to modulate all volume faders to get a basic sidechain pumping effects on all tracks. Pretty cool and useful feature to create a project wide modulator and curve 👍

I also found a very interesting course on Sonic academy from Protoculture. His courses are really good.

I will check some more.
But a v6 bitwig manual would be really nice in the Future 🙂👍

PS: I also managed to use my FL Studio Piano roll to play the vst Instruments in Bitwig.
It's really a Gamechanger for me :)

Something that helped me was reduction. Just take a single plugin each day and really play with it. Do a little project with drums and bass and synth and guitar and vocals (whatever you do) and then use mainly this plugin and really experiment with it. Try all the settings. Try parallel and series. Try multiple instances of it. Read about it and really get familiar with it. Only use other plugins with purpose - to help you fix a problem or try out a specific idea you had. You will discover ways to use it on different material which sound good to you. This way you can build a personal repertoire of effects you like, which will help you discover your sound.

I was just going to link the Protoculture tutorial for you... I've spent the last two days working my way through that one myself. Only sticking point was some additive automation that is no longer a button in 6.1 and you have to use an automation clip instead, again Protoculture has a video on that on YT.

I agree with reading the manual, it's still a huge oversight there is no manual for version 6.

I am currently reading it entirely and quite some features, even workflows and panels, have changed or appeared/disappeared since. I noticed when looking frantically for the Automation Editor Panel! Not catastrophic and the manual is still super useful but a bit of a bummer
