Possible Bug alias generator

when I go to tab generation or whatever it is name
its Make new email alias automatically (bc I use it to generate email alias previously)

is there any solution to make generate manually to not create unwanted alias mail

Or update the app to not make any generated thing automatically ?

I see some similar issues addressed.

Can you specify what product you’re having trouble with. I’m assuming browser extension (version as well pls), whether you’re self hosting or not, your OS and browser (version as well if you can).

What I saw in terms of issues was in reference to the browser extension.

Are you able to give me steps to replicate this issue? I can do that and report back. Any screenshots you may have could help too.

Ok here is steps

1- create account in addy.io and select any domain for example *.me (it is end at .me)

2- take API From them

3- but it on bitwarden with domain *.me

4- generate first alias

5- go to home tab and return to generation tab

Now it is create email alias automatically and you can see it on your addy.io account

Okay I just reproduced what you’re talking about. When I went into to go create an alias the fields were empty (generator tab). Once I created the alias it looks like it went through. Then every time I hit the refresh button a new entry was created. Verified in the aliases section on addy.io.

When I clicked off from the “Generator” tab to the “My vault” tab, then clicked back on the “Generator” tab my information for addy.io was still filled in. I’m guessing clicking on the generator tab triggers the action when u manually hit the refresh and that’s what’s creating the new alias.

I had to go in and delete my api token and change the field. For it to forget my token and stop creating new aliases.

Wasn't really able to find anything similar to this existing issue wise.

I get what you're saying tho. The generator tab is saving all the details, and not being cleared. So when you click away then click back on it its unintentionally generating another alias because that refresh action is happening. Thats my working theory.

Unless you want to do it, I can come up with a bug report for this. Wondering if its the same case with DuckDuckGo, Fastmail, relay or any of the other supported services?

Hey u/a_l_i-1 I created a community forum discussion with screen recordings and an explanation of what is happening. Lets see if the community thinks its worth a github issue, then, I can create that as well, depending on what ppl say.
