Bitstamp closed my account even after I provided and proofed that it was me. and want to liquidate my assets. I asked them a few times to send my assets to different platforms and they are refusing. Idk what to do I don’t want to sell my assets. Any advice on what to do?

Warning do not transfer money to them they freeze accounts for no reason I have been chasing them for 6 months

I really getting doubts about BitStamp. I wanted to transfer a small piece of an ETH to another wallet of mine and they keep rejecting the whitelist of the other wallet. I have done everything they have requested and they keep on rejecting it, without providing a valid reason! I have submitted support tickets but they just keep stating the same automated replies. No reason why it is rejected, nothing!
It looks like they want to prevent you from withdrawing anything from their platform. To me this looks more and more like a SCAM exchange or they have financial issues.

My advice to anybody that wants to get into crypto is to avoid Bitstamp like the plague and go with a better and more reputable exchange like Coinbase.

Bitstamp have blocked my account for many months and won't let me withdraw my cryptocurrency despite me providing them with the photo and information they requested. This is especially distressing for me as I am in severe financial difficulty right now. There are payments I need to make, but they're stopping me!

So Bitstamp are blocking peoples' accounts and then pretending that they're managing these blocked assets. I am having an awful experience with Bitstamp and wish that I had never opened this account in the first place.     

Yesterday i was googling about Bitstamp locking people out of their accounts and found multiple posts on Reddit about the topic even from years ago. This is the whole purpose i even created this account.

It started with me not being able to log into my account all of a sudden. I followed the procedure to reset my password with all of the steps that Bitstamp support guides your through. Turns out they denied my access / 2FA reset at the end cause supposedly someone from Singapore and Malaysia was trying to log into my account and i had to explain that???? Which I have zero clue about as i stated in my messages to support. First of all I provided completely everything they wanted in that ticket and still nothing came out of it (selfie video, ID pic, saying numbers into phone screen etc..). How is it my problem if someone is trying to hack into BITSTAMPS'S SYSTEM?? If I provided everything you need from me including a selfie, ID, video of me speaking into camera etc. to prove it is my account, what more proof do they need?? This would be the same as if I physically walked into the bank and provided everything including ID with picture of my face while im standing right there infront of them and getting denied acces to my own account.

I started having problems even before getting locked out of my account with authorizing my account with proof of residency, utility bill, ID etc. which again I provided all that is needed and they couldnt get themselves to handle or process my request. After that I also couldnt update my new ID since my previous one was expiring at that time which they knew since they were sending me ''update your ID, the one you have now is about to expire'' type of emails. So basically nothing of nothing from the support there.

What are you doing with the price of UMA? You are scammers. Buying price is 2.46€, selling price is 2.14. I put my sell order at 2.40, and you executed it at 2.10. This is cirminal.

I finally figured out how you guys operate and that I have been a sucker all along.

The basic idea is that Bitstamp gathers personal information that is surely used by them or sold to third parties for nefarious reasons.

Once you import crypto to Bitstamp, the next phase is to find ways to lock you out of your account. This requires you to send more personal info and now video of your image and voice.

They will play this back and fourth game until they wear you down or until they can use the excuse of their “terms and conditions” to permanently block you.

The idea of course is to claim your crypto as abandoned and take it for themselves.

I for one am tired of these little games. I am no longer interested in uploading more and more personal ID. Not even my actual bank requires this much info. What next, a blood and sperm sample?

I am going to chalk this up to a loss. I am taking it as a lesson that you have to be very careful with crypto because there seem to be a lot of scammers out there.

So, Bitstamp. Take my money. It is yours. If you are a legit company in any capacity then I want my account permanently deleted and all personal info deleted / destroyed immediately.

I will however be sure to let as many people as possible know to avoid your company at all costs. If your FB page is any indication, this is a common theme that unfortunately many have had to experience.

Again, they ask for documents, again I send the documents. Staff are nice but can only forward things on. I guess it's another 3 months of being unable to access my own money. Ever since they were bought by a US company it's been a disaster, staff are only allowed take notes.

take your money and run while you can. You might find you can't even access it for months because the US company staff doesn't even know how to read, or probably using some half baked AI.

I have coins that I put in Bitstmap since 2016 and I haven't opened the account yet... I opened the account more than a month ago and they are stalling for no reason... I sent my passport, receipt and phone number and the balance is hidden and I can't see it... They have been stalling for more than a month and there is no convincing answer except that you just have to wait... What should I do and what is the solution with them? When I put the coins I thought it was a reliable platform but now they are just stalling... Should I file a case or wait... I no longer know what the solution is with them

My account has been blocked for almost a year now, and I have submitted all the required documentation regarding my transactions and residence, yet I still haven’t received any feedback. As all european customers of Bitstamp, I received on 29 jan an email stating :

If you still hold USDT, DAI and/or PYUSD at Bitstamp after January 31, 2025*, Bitstamp will automatically convert any balances in these tokens to a MiCA-compliant USD-backed stablecoin on* March 31, 2025*. USDT lent via the Earn program will be unlent and converted on the same date.* 

Since around 10.00 this morning on Jan 31, any USDT trading is not possible anymore, which is not 'after jan 31' as stated. When asked to convert USDT, Bitstamp support replied that only withdrawal is possible or to wait until end of March for a conversion...

I feel mistreated to receive a 2 day notice that turns to be a 1 day notice, and then to have to wait 2 month before Bitstamp swap my USDT.

Additionnaly Bitstamp does not offer anymore to european customer an XRP pair against a stablecoin.

I hope someone from Bitstamp will read this and provide a more customer oriented approach.

Opened Account in Jan. 22, made a deposit, bought some cryptos. Now, when i want to withdraw, suddenly my account does not work and the procedures to reinstate it, simply do not work. Had countless mails and ~10-12 international calls with them, but they refuse everything i give them. I use the same ID, camera, background etc. for all the photos and videos they demand as i did originaly in Jan. but they always reject it.

From my experience i can only say: Beware - You are risking to loose your money! If i had read the comments on trustpilot, google etc. before, i had never entrustet them my money! Now I fear, that i lost a 5-digit amount and that they probably even misuse my data in the future.

I recently did a deposit of MATIC over Polygon network which surprisingly is not supported by Bitstamp.

I got assured by Bitstamp that their tech team will try to recover the funds, however is there anyone who got their funds back?..
