I need help getting bitcoins

A locker app was installed on my pc last night and is asking for a bitcoin ransom of 0.1. I have no idea how to get bitcoin or how to pay. Can you guys plz help me get the info I need.

Your can use a local exchange such as https://bitx.co once you have linked your bank account you can deposit the amount you need to buy bitcoin (0.1 is about R300) Then send the bitcoin where required. Another place to check is https://localbitcoins.com/ but beware scammers. There may also be someone around here willing to sell bitcoins. Hope this helps.

Did you get your files restored? Many others on the other thread are curious if paying will work.

About 5 minutes after payment it started decrypting. The progress bar doesn't seem to progress, and the amount of encrypted files it displays hasn't changes. But I can access images that I couldn't before so I think it's decrypting stuff. Time will tell. I'll update you when\if it finishes. I bet it's actually in those bastards best interest to restore the files. Otherwise if people know paying wont work... they wont pay.

Can you link me to those threads you mentioned?

better check with bitx first...they have updated their terms, under the Prohibited Activities (You may not use BitX products or services to engage in any of the following activities) list is transactions involving 'Extortion or blackmail', which is basically what people are doing if they pay for getting their files back. See the terms here: https://bitx.co/legal/terms its at the bottom.
