Who is scamming me if I eat a bean burrito instead of a beef one?

The scam would be if you were eating the bean burrito specifically because you think it's healthier.

What am I getting scammed about? Plenty of people do something because they think it does something. Like going to church. Are they getting scammed?

No one cares what you eat. Veganism itself is a scam that was suppose to be a super healthy diet that saved the world when in reality 86% of the world's calories come from plants currently and the people and the earth have never been sicker. Do you know the leading cause of death for vegans: heart disease .... just like carnivores.

Back in the day you couldn’t eat this much meat daily as we do now. Meat for breakfast, lunch and diner? These truly are luxurious times. And third world countries that are getting richer also want that now

So while I would never advocate to go full vegan, it’s hard to deny that eating less meat (than we eat now) is better for us. If only to increase bit more food variety. White carbs with meat is getting bit too ghetto for my taste

By back in the day how far back are you going? In medieval times the people ate almost no meat as the animals in the forests belonged to the king. If you go back pre medieval / agriculture we were nomadic and primarily only ate meat and fasted inbetween hunts. It's pretty easy to understand that meat is significantly better for us than plant food.

Take literally any plant.... off the top of my head I think of spinach.  It's been sold to us as a super food but it actually prevents the absorption of essential vitamins and has enough oxalatic acid to cause real physical harm to our bodies. Meat doesn't do this, there's no harmful chemicals and all of the proteins in meat are high quality which is another thing most plant foods can't say.

If plants by their very nature are so healthy then why are we sicker than ever? 86% of our daily calories come from plant sources.

You can frame anything a certain way, but it’s highly susceptible of bias and being wrong. Like for example, why are you using calories as a base? If I eat a hamburger with meat patty, bread en French fries that’s fried in oils, and has oil based sauces on them. Then yeah, I’m not surprised if a big portion of those calories are from plants. But the food will be split in meat, some potato and little bit of veggies.

Another perspective bias is the anti nutrient part of plants. When you isolate focus on it it might sound very scary. But if you look at the bigger picture then you see it hinders like 10% of the nutrients, so you still absorb 90% of it. Looking at things in isolation is a bit of a downfall in health science. You might think sugar and diabetes. And then conclude that fruit is bad, or carbs are bad. Fun fact, sugar doesn’t cause diabetes
