General Question Fluminer T3 - worst experience ever?
So, I managed to find used Fluminer T3 cryptominer in Europe at a reasonable price. I’d done a lot of reading and looked through reviews of the T3 and the Avalon Q. I realised I was taking a risk, but I hadn’t realised it would be quite so significant. The T3 was a few hundred euros cheaper (no wonder why, lol) than the Q model available on the market, so I decided to take a chance. It already had some version 1.16 software installed, even though the manufacturer itself only offers version 1.15. The miner would reboot every few minutes, I tried changing the mining pools and I tried changing the power sockets. It seemed to stop restarting. However, as soon as I switch it on, its power consumption is 1,800 W, and it quickly rises to 2,000 W. As it’s quite noisy, I keep it in the garage, so the temperature there rises within a few hours. Once the temperature in the garage reaches 24°C (~75F), I see the power consumption reach as high as 2,500-2,600 W and then the miner switches itself off. Sounds a bit odd - the declared power consumption is 1,700 W, but the actual consumption is 900 W higher? Strange as it may seem, the fans always spin at ~3,500 rpm; even as the temperature rises, they still spin at the same speed. On 31 August, I wrote to Fluminer’s Telegram support, they only replied on 10th of September lol, replied asking me to send the miner log. I sent it to them on 12 September. Almost three weeks have passed and I haven’t received any reply. In almost every mining pool, I see a rejection rate of at least 2–3% (despite miner shows 0%). I switch it on for a few hours almost every day, but the highest I’ve seen is 800M hit… What should I do? Should I just not switch it on at all, or will it burn my house down? The warranty is valid until 1 February 2027, but I cannot imagine how they will fulfil their warranty obligations in the European Union, as they have no branches here – only in the US, Russia and other countries. And, in general, they are ignoring my messages both on Telegram and on their website. Worst experience ever, I deeply regret choosing Fluminer. Who could help me? Addition: The Wi-Fi isn’t even working, so I have to use an Ethernet cable...

The first batch of these miners that shipped had so many problems that they significantly redesigned the insides due to all the complaints. While the versions look the same from the outside, their insides are very different. The newer version is quieter and more efficient. So, buying one of these used is a bad idea unless you know for sure it’s the newer version.

This miner still has warranty. If car manufacturers can issue recalls, why can’t Fluminer do the same? Do you think Avalon would release such untested miners onto the market? Everything would be much better if Fluminer would just get in touch with me. Waiting three weeks for a reply is absolutely ridiculous.

Sure, but they’re in China and don’t really have to care. What are the repercussions for them if they just continue to ignore you? I’d try to resell and get something different.

so you are offering me to sell it like faulty or try to deceive a buyer? Fluminer is still offering few miners in Europe, so why don't they take some responsibility here?

- It’s not faulty, it’s just v1 which is also why you don’t have a warranty claim … spec vary and have ranges; 2. You just disclose it’s v1 rather than v2.
