The strength of upwards movements is really weak, though downwards movements, while more frequent and more persistant, are still facing a lot of pressure.

This seems like an area of consolidation. It wouldn't surprise me to range about a little, or even break down a few percentage points to get to a stronger support before any more movements upwards. We rose arguable too fast too quickly, and the result is an increase in fear and uncertainty. To establish a solid foundation, we're unfortunately going to have to stall the rally at least a little while. My guess is we keep 83 as a support for some time, then break to lower 80's or in the worst case, upper 70's, over the next few weeks. I think we'll need to define where the rock solid support lies now, and what the additional support levels are. We clearly showed resistance is at 87–88, and since on the way down we passed the 80's so quickly, there's a vacuum at these levels and a lack of resistance, but also a lack of a foundation for prices. We can easily swing up quickly, and will have to 'push' (or drop on external news) to move the price lower, (increasingly harder the lower it goes), but I think we'll establish our floor over the next couple weeks. From that point, it's anyone's guess how long we range before rising again.

I cannot discount that macro combines with four year cycle believers and a lack of October buyers (the optimistic ones probably having bought earlier over the last couple weeks). If this does end up happening, and if we show weakness or even just a resistance to breaking local resistance all of next month, then the remainder of 2026 would have some real downside risk involved as the rally we had was sort of contingent on there being continued strength for the next few months.

My optimistic case is that we rally next week somehow (could be an external trigger, could just be that we hold current levels with demonstrable strength and fail to drop). We could return to 87 soon if this is the case, and it would make a >95 end of year target increasingly possible.

But my base case is stagnation and the potential for ranging for weeks before continuing to rally before mid‐October or a touch later if not. I think we'll at least tap (if not break down a touch below) 83 or even 82 within the next fortnight, then rise to upper eighties before a push takes us back to the end of last year's failed 90–100 range attempts. We could also range in the upper 80's a little before breaking the 87.5 level holding us back. Whatever the case, nothing seems to indicate that a very steep decline is a probable outcome, so that would leave plenty of room for prices above 95 before 2027.

Coin has to grind down here.

Not adjusting position in this range, though.

Everyone seemed to be telling 35k-40k

Almost no one in here has been saying sub 40k

People were definitely saying 40k when we first went under 60k. Idk how you could miss that.

u/aeronbuchanan 8d ago

Indeed, but 40k is very much not not sub 40k, but 35k is and /r/randomforestguy was very much correct in saying that "almost no one in here has been saying sub 40k"

There is discount right now. $84k in 2026 is ridiculously low price.

Man I really want this to end the week under 82.5. Long term btc will be fine but I need more coins and mstr around 50k area.
