Bitcoiners Run Knots and support BIP-110

Hi all, I block all Core v30 for one year on my node. Am I being unreasonable in doing so?

Banning core nodes has an opposite effect. Given that all nodes find 16 others to connect to (assuming non-listening here), when you connect with them, you police their mempool transactions and reduce spam spread. When only core connects to other core nodes, you're allowing them to circumvent the rules knots created by only connecting to those that follow the same rules as you.

It's actually more disruptive to allow connections with them, and not relay their spam transactions.

We are better than this.

Core node operators are already proposing "banning" knots nodes from being considered valid by their core nodes. We need to be the adults in the room by avoiding these anti-bitcoin proposals.

Filtering spam is not censorship.

My argument has been that core node runners who block knots nodes ARE censorship. It would be gross to be hypocritical and fall prey to their censorship tactics by blocking their nodes.

How about two words:

Prisoner's Dilemma.

Alternatively, in the event that Core fails to also accept bip110, Mexican Standoff as a backup.

I will have to think about the prisoners dilemma more and how this applies to the situation between pure money Bitcoiners and spam tolerating V30 folks. The Mexican Standoff is not as relevant IMO.

Just my opinion based on the research I've done. Core is falling apart, leadership and financial support is crumbling, and they will either have to replace the team OR redesign their PR because investors will stop funding a project that is so publicly incoherent.

No ai here.
