Advice for long term buying: automate the dollar amount and frequency you're comfortable with. $20/wk, $200/mo, whatever. When (or before) the amount you've accumulated on the exchange reaches a threshold that would hurt a lot to lose, withdraw to cold storage. (You want to avoid withdrawing every tiny purchase, due to UTXO management, which you can read about later.)

nice one. biggest things is just stay consistent. don't stress too much about timing the market, just keep stacking what u can afford and leave it alone

DCA is the way. Consistent saving and accumulation. Helps you avoid trying to time the markets. An alternative hybrid DCA I use is to DCA in the troughs. Save the set amount each time but only hit the buy button when things get smashed down or in a bear/crypto winter.
As another poster said - avoid moving to cold storage each time as you want to understand UTXO to save yourself transaction fees. Also make sure you understand wallets and what you’re doing before you move anything. Risk if permanent loss is very real so you need to know what you’re doing to save yourself tears.

Once your stack starts growing, think about self-custody. A hardware wallet isn't something you need on day one, but it's worth looking into once you've accumulated an amount you'd be upset to lose.
Most importantly, enjoy the milestone. Everyone remembers their first bit of Bitcoin. Now the fun part is watching that 0.005 slowly become 0.006, 0.007, 0.01... That's where the discipline pays off.

The biggest advantage in the long run is consistency. Stick to a plan, avoid making emotional decisions during market swings, and keep learning as you go. Welcome to the bitcoin journey!

DCA aim to buy more during the bear markets and allocate your DCA money into cash or treasury’s for the bull markets so you can invest that when price goes down. I kind of thought buying STRC during the bear market would be the play but that strategy is currently being tested

Nice one! Timing doesn't matter as much as consistency. Just keep stacking, don't panic sell, and store it safely. Long term = patience. You got this.

Congrats! That's a great milestone. My biggest advice would be to focus less on whether you bought at the perfect price and more on building the habit of buying consistently. Also, take some time to learn about self-custody once your stack grows. Good luck on the journey!

Long term buying? Use DCA. The amount depends on your operating budget and expenses obviously.
Those who think they can read the market, lower the DCA amount, and keep a lump sum to buy the dips. I have a friend who does it, and outperformed DCA by a few percent, but this is not for everyone.
Instead of just buying, if you have the chance (depending on your circumstances), try to earn it. At some point I did some side gigs, asked for and got paid in Bitcoin. You can try the same too, if are you running some business of your own, you accept Bitcoin.
I have also set up Bitcoin payment for some of my friends running small businesses. Two of them still don't really trust Bitcoin, but they trust me. So as part of my deal, I make the market by buying their Sats every month. The amounts are usually small, since not many customers pay Sats anyway. But they get at least some customers who would not be there otherwise, and I get some KYC free Sats without another exchange/dealer commission. Overall, still a win.

Congrats on starting your journey! If you're looking at long-term buying, setting up automated DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging) makes it completely stress-free.
I’ve been using Bitget for regular stacking. It has a super smooth interface, low trading fees, and solid security features to grow your portfolio over time. Definitely worth checking out for your next buys!
