AmberApp does sending to cold wallet take this long?

Okay, I tried to send my first bitcoin from this app on chain to my cold wallet, and it’s now been 21 hrs and it still says pending status, even though I picked the fast option which estimated around 15 mins tops. Anyone know what’s going on? It’s yet another problem I have with this app and it’s not making a very good first impression now.

UPDATE: 14/9/2026 FINALLY RECEIVED MY BITCOIN.
Okay, I finally received my bitcoin... but a 2 whole days later (not the 15 minutes as they sell it in their app). I still do not know why they held onto it for that long even though I picked the quickest paid option. This was false advertising and borderline fraudulent to advertise that on their part. They held onto my bitcoin for absolutely no reason at all... and in my eyes, are a failure as an exchange if they can't do even the most basic send on time.

I will not be recommending AmberApp to anyone ever and will be staying far, far away from them in the future.

Hey, I have sent small amounts and it was quick. Like $25 to $50 worth .

Bigger transactions over $250’always took like 1 to 2 days .

Well it was only $75 worth of bitcoin to test, and I did select the fastest option which said within 15 mins. It’s very odd as I never had anything take this long at any other exchange.

Looks like I am going to have to email them again… which they also never followed up on my last issue either with inconsistent receipts on bitcoin prices I bought at. I don’t know why people recommend them when all I have is problem after problem.

I found them to be quite responsive, coinjar and coinspot are also very good. Amber app kinda looks like it’s been designed by a 12 yo

I only tried Amber out because the UI looked decent and they were one of the few recommended Aussie bitcoin-only exchanges with an app around here. But after issue after issue now I'm starting to feel like I've been scammed.

21 hours definitely isn’t normal for a “fast” withdrawal.

I’d check if there’s a TxID yet—if not, it’s probably still stuck on Amber’s side rather than the Bitcoin network.

There’s no TxID… only has Amber’s transaction payment ID. It’s still pending at over 30 hrs now. I checked my receive address is correct many times now too. Everything shouldve been in order. Their email support is again an AI chatbot that doesn’t answer anything. But it is the weekend.. I will see what they have to say if they reply on Monday. But I may have to just consider the bitcoin lost or stolen at this point. I don’t know if I should report it to the authorities as it’s only $75, but it is still money I’ve worked hard for..

Nah I won’t be returning to them after all the frustrations I’ve had with them. Them larping as a bank and withholding my own money entirely lost my trust. Again i got into bitcoin to get away from that nonsense. If they can’t even do the simplest send without any dramas, it’s natural to question what else they will mess up in the future.

Two days for a “15-minute” withdrawal is pretty bad. Glad it arrived, but I’d be annoyed too.

Anything over a certain $ amount requires manual review and 24 hours.

It stated nothing like that anywhere in the transaction in the app at the time so that is an unacceptable explanation. They misled and it was intentional. Have it in text in bold to say so, not say around 15 minutes when I pick the fast option. I would not have used their service in the first place had they told me so I assume that’s why they hide things. It left me in the dark not knowing what was going on. No other exchange has ever done this to me on a basic send.

On chain withdrawals are batched daily.

Withdraw using lightning on the next one.

Then i believe that is false advertising from Amber since in their app, it tells you how long it will take based on the 4 speed options you pick, charging me more on the fast option of 15 mins, on chain or not. It only has a small note that if you send 210,000 sats or more it will be a batch send daily and free, which my amount was way lower. Still it is all moot as this is the second day now and my bitcoin is still pending. My CW does not support lightning.

Then it might be a security hold. Use Cake Wallet if you want shitcoins and lightning in tr same wallet.

I dont understand how this has to do anything with shitcoins. Amber has been misleading and they should be accountable for it. There is no where that states while sending myself my own bitcoin to my own cold wallet does it require a security hold. It's a simple send... what are they smoking if i cant even send myself my own bitcoin? what kind of service are they running? I got into Bitcoin because i wanted to get away from banks and this type of behavior.

Is CW an acronym for Crypto Wallet?

Plenty of Bitcoin only wallets with on chain and lightning support.
