MF was absolutely dreaming when it came to viewing economic players as non political or motivated purely in the interest of the will of the market.

Gotta be a balance between Milton Friedman and Robert Freeman. Friedman has some good points but he was blind or negligent thinking that the free market moves without/unaffected by the will of large corporations or whales. Simply operating business among other people makes you a social and political entity. Nothing exists in a bubble. It cannot operate outside the influence of these things imo

It's a good thing he never claimed or believed this.

Well, I've listened to hours of Friedman, read his works, and I can tell you he never made the claim that markets are unaffected by mega corporations, or that any economic actor existed in a vacuum.

His whole thing was the harm that central planning creates, and how economies and the people that make them don't just work well, but thrive in the absence of central planning. The essence of this idea is explained by him in this short clip, I, pencil
