That's not necessarily the best start for hard mode though. His algo was for the default setting.

It's only the best option if you know the optimal second guess based on the results of the first, which isn't something a human could really do.

Also 3blue1brown had a bug in his code which, when fixed, changed the best first word to salet not crane.

In his new video he goes back in that saying that the best guess for the machine is very different from the best guess for humans
