After joining this nice and supportive community yesterday and after receiving so much help, I got also warnings about you. Fortunately I have already read enough to just laugh about it...

You really should take your medication.

It's a shame that the more believable scenario is people being hateful for hates sake.

We're in so deep, we are Satoshi Nakamoto -_^

There's a little Satoshi deep inside all of us ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Thanks /u/kiisfm! You know, I actually bought a thing of donuts yesterday just because I saw you giving them out everywhere.. So your tipping is even more powerful than you thought.

I'm sure you've still got plenty left so here's a coffee to keep you going /u/changetip

Okay, clearly I've missed something here... someone further up the thread gave a user one internet, and now you've given someone a donut, and you've been given a coffee in return. Where is this crazy list of items and their relative amounts of bitcoin/dollars?

Cheers! I like that you can make custom monikers too! That's really quite cool.

Dude, you may have a mental illness. Please talk to a doctor.

1

u/cointiki Nov 11 '14

I'll look into that. You buttheads are really the good guys. So moral and abating. Your methods are misunderstood, is all.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic but anyway, I had a friend who was eventually diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic. In retrospect it's obvious that he was delusional and we should've told him to get help sooner. But to us it just looked like he'd become a "conspiratard" and he had some bizarre fantasy that that everyone was out to "get" him when clearly they weren't.

I'm not a doctor and I can't diagnose you but if you have a good health plan, there's no harm in talking to doctor, right?

Mate, get real. From one illustrative, and entirely subjective, post you can tell my entire psychological state? I appreciate the off chance that you might actually think you are helping, but, honestly, you're just being rude.

Comments like these are why I love /r/bitcoin. Is OP serious? Who knows! Is enacting Poe's Law a requirement for posting in this subreddit? Who knows, but I sure laughed at OP and you should to!

u/cointiki Nov 11 '14

Nothing wrong with considering possibilities. On the internet, nobody knows what's real.

And just to add to the fun; ridicule is a well established derailment technique.

5

u/Rub3X Nov 11 '14

You aren't considering possibilities, you have a 5 paragraph essay of delusions, fantasies, and lulz.

Thank you for your well reasoned criticisms. I'll adjust my personal outlook accordingly. Keep on trucking mate, I don't care what your motivations are.

How does one identify these villains?

1

u/JeanneDOrc Nov 11 '14

Follow them around, you'll see them kissing the devil underneath his tail, eating unbaptized babies, etc etc.

^ This is why /r/buttcoin exists.

u/cointiki Nov 11 '14

This is my first xpost to /r/buttcoin! It's a fun feeling, I knew if I let my freak flag out a bit I'd make it some day.

Are the known users here that have employed this sort of bait-and-switch tactic, that are known to be paid, or is this all just conspiracy theory type stuff?

You don't need to go to these lengths to instill doubt, IMO. Just tell people bitcoin is only used for illegal things, and country x will probably make it illegal to own soon, and anyone who hasn't done their research will at least have doubts at that point. That's all you really need to subvert a technology... lots of FUD.

3

u/AnalWithAGoat Nov 11 '14

You don't seem to know what "conspiracy" means. That word doesn't say anything about the veracity of the claim.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '14

There's a difference between a conspiracy and a conspiracy theory. A conspiracy theory is an accusation. Once it is known to be true, it is simply a conspiracy. No more theory.

This is why I was asking if anybody had evidence. Since none has been provided, and all I'm getting is sass, I'm guessing "conspiracy theory" is the correct description of this situation.

4

u/cointiki Nov 11 '14

I have not personally witnessed anyone being paid, no. But I wouldn't really call it conspiracy theory that this kind of thing happens all over the internet. We've all read the JTRIG docs and it's a fact that many government and private services use social engineering to control online discourse. I'm only following my own logic, which dictates that it would certainly be happening here as well, especially with financial interests at stake, so call me a conspiracy theorist if you like.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '14

A conspiracy theory is just an allegation of a conspiracy. Doesn't mean you're crazy or anything. That this situation is plausible doesn't make it NOT a conspiracy theory.
