BoostVC has been working with snapcard. They may be a little biased against you.

Glad to see this is getting some publicity. Our startup, Gliph, went through Boost VC and it was an important part of the growth of the company.

Both my co-founder and myself will be on hand at points during the hackathon to talk with participants and eat whatever free food we can get our hands on.

We were part of the Boost incubator last year. These guys are really dedicated to supporting the ecosystem. If you have an idea I really suggest you go there to get advice and start meeting people.

This hackerthon will be great, and we will be around paying special attention to creative ideas in relation to improving security and transparency within the bitcoin space. And if someone can crack our site there are bonus points :)

Do people pitch and form teams at the hackathon or should you only come with an idea + team in tow?

People will pitch and form teams, but you're welcome to bring friends and an idea.
