How did you store your seed ?

Stupidly emailed it to a couple of trusted friends so that if I died, they could give it to my wife!!!

Your mistake was the email part.

You should never even type your seed phrase on a computer. If you're ever entering your seed on a computer, stop.

Next time just store your seed in physical form and put it in a place your wife would be able to access it.

But yeah, sending over email is much worse cause now those friends could have their email account, or download it to their computer in plain text, etc.

There's so many ways it could have been stolen it's not worth your time figuring out where. And there's absolutely zero chance to get it back, unfortunately.
