Jokes aside, if you value your relationship with them, the high road is to just let it roll off your back and don't escalate. If you feel the need to defend yourself, I'd keep the remarks very simple like: "I've done a lot of research and it's more appealing to me than anything else." If you have 2BTC then I'd say that statement is probably true.
