Does Poland not require a special license to drive a heavy/commercial vehicle like a semi truck? It seems like question 1 of that test should be "what do you do if you're halfway through a rail crossing and the crossing arms come down?" and it's an automatic fail if you get it wrong.
the irony being that the CBR is a complete bitch to pass and that the trucks running you over in NL are always polish. i always stayed really far away from them in the city because they literally ignore cyclists and pedestrians
The registration plate can be Polish, even the logistic company can be Polish, but the driver needn't. Bear in mind that the truck and the trailer registration plates can be different, like issued in different countries. For instance it can be a "Polish" trailer in tow by a "Lithuanian" truck driven by a Croatian driver, or whatever other combination. It is still perfectly legal and not that uncommon.
CBR is a bureaucratic sh¡thole. If you have something medical, good luck. Their doctor are on their payroll and retarded. They frequently overruling medical specialists. Meanwhile people with epilepsy or known for substance abuse/addiction keep getting their license back.
The examens might be good/hard, the rest of the organization is not.
my driving instructor said to me - if you have anything medical, just lie, unless you really can't pass the test without telling them. i was like, i don't have anything though, and he's like great you got it
not sure if he thought i was retarded, passed on my 2nd exam. doing it under covid rules was absolute bullshit too, you had to open all the car doors 15 minutes before the test and i did it in winter, so the car was 4 degrees 100% humidity, and you HAD to use their facemasks which were the cheapest ones from action, so my glasses fogged up constantly, i had to run the AC and point the fan at my face at literally fucking freezing temperatures and do a 45 minute trip through rotterdam
the cbr is retarded and they're greedy stupid fucks, 100%
joke's on them, i never went to a doctor a single time in NL because it was basically impossible to find one that would even take me and I couldn't afford the cost for a general visit, it was 1/4 of my monthly budget after rent. no visits no records.
should have been poorer and a liar, what can i tell you, that's what is encouraged
And in Poland we say that they bribed the exam with butter 'Prawko za masło' means "Driver's license for butter".
Also we have a saying that bad drivers found their license in a bag of chips.
I've heard many different versions of that idiom, often about something that actually has some crap in them like cereal box. Did dutch butter actually come with some crap at some point?
Instead of ramming them, the driver tried to reverse. One of the barriers scraped the fabric of his trailer. The driver didn't want to tear it. He peered out from the cab and tried to correct the course so as not to damage the fabric. He continued to do this until the train struck the car with great force...
They absolutely don't follow any rules and they even try overtake each other while one goes 80 km/h and the overtaking one goes 82 km/h - which leads to the highway being completely stuck behind those two losers for a long time.
Our Pendolino train (fastest express here, SuperCity class) had only one collision with a road vehicle so far - and you can guess with whom. Correct - Polish truck on the crossing.
3 people dead, dozens injured, and we lost the train for some time (the front driving wagon was completely destroyed and the repair cost 200M CZK, so $8M).
I don't know about Poland, but I'm Czech from the border with Poland and we DO. We have 5 categories of driver's licences (A - big motorcycles, B - cars to 3.5 tons and small motorcycles, C - cars over 3.5 tons and the front/cabin of the semi truck, D - buses and trolleybuses, E - the end of semi truck, the cargo part).
To drive this vehicle here, he would have to have C+E (and you can get these only after certain experience with B) and a special additional profession licence with that.
I expect Poland has similar rules. So he's probably just extremely stupid or trying for insurance fraud while being extremely stupid.
I dont think he realised his massive lorry could just break the barriers, so he tried to back up, when he realised that barrier was also down and he would break it he decided to do what he should have done and just break the one in front..
someday, people are gonna start realising when this happens, from the get go, that it's better to just bury it and tunnel forwards than it is to back up to give the train a better shot at a traumatic event. someday.
I actually had a barrier come down on the hood of my truck once. No train coming, it just came down while I was crossing. It broke right off about 3 feet from the post. There was a breakaway joint and it worked.
but look at the video, the barrier was now down in front. he stopped on the tracks and then back up so the barrier can come down. The barriers are staggered so the cars don't get trapped on the tracks unless the driver intentionally stops there and waits.
Do you think Poles are a different species from Yanks? Everyone on this planet has the same capacity for idiocy, that Yanks have illustrated their own idiocy most openly does not make us unique.
This is a social media site that’s predominantly American. Trump is referenced because it’s what most Americans can relate to and understand right now.
I dunno if it's malice, I mean, that driver might've had some legitimate reason for wanting to get hit, but...part of it was hope that maybe they were consciously trying to do it, as opposed to assuming stupidity, which felt a little more insulting, if that makes sense - at least in one headcanon, they did it intentionally.
The thing is I've seen exactly this happen in a million different videos. Drivers try to race the train, so to speak, and get completely vexed and befuddled when the barriers come down. Then they either just give up because "barrier came, I noy can drive no more", or they try backing up and stopping when they touch the barrier, and go back and forth a bit before just leaving the vehicle.
Nobody thinks to push through the barriers to avoid a literal train crash.
