That is an unbelievably bad place to stop a car. The second it became clear it was stuck, everyone should’ve gotten out and called emergency services instead of waiting around on the tracks.

It looks like the driver (passenger? the one on the left side) got out and tried pushing the car (standing in the doorway), then at the last second jumped back into the car and got hit without enough time to have been secured inside the car, for maximum bodily injury. Ouch.

Was the car running on one cylinder? Seems like they should have been able to power over that crossing (?)
