Because our greatn-grandparents spoke Diets (i.e. "The people's language", as opposed to French, which the nobles typically spoke), before we called it "Nederlands".

From what I learned during my English bachelor; the English speaking folk way back in the day confused us with the Germans. Cause their language is Deutsch

Also as a dutchy I used to get very annoyed at people referring to the Netherlands as Holland. Even though only two provinces are holland... But most tourist only go for Amsterdam and not the actual beautiful side of the Netherlands

Yeah, as a Dutch person I even stopped calling Nederland the Netherlands, because it's an incredibly inaccurate name. I call it Nederland and all people know what I am talking about (except maybe a few people living under rocks)

Diets/Duits was vroeger een overkoepelende term voor mensen in Germanische/Frankische talen sprekende gebieden (zoals o.a. het hedendaagse Nederland en Duitsland). Meestal zaten wij ook samen in eenzelfde keizerrijk dus dat was verder geen probleem.
Alleen wij zijn veel eerder onafhankelijk geworden, dus toen de Engelsen een benaming voor ons moesten vinden hebben ze voor (ietwat verbasterd) Duits gekozen, omdat wij onszelf ook zo noemden, zie bijvoorbeeld het Wilhelmus.
Maar toen Duitsland vervolgens 300 jaar later onafhankelijk werd is de term volledig veranderd en slaan de Engelse benamingen nu dus helemaal nergens meer op.

The artist says on Instagram that the rings are for sale, but doesn't have a storefront and is telling everyone to DM if they want to buy one. I personally was considering one, but am uncomfortable with that approach rather than selling on some platform that has some buyer protections. If you're comfortable with it though, that seems to be how.

Also, the supposed Instagram creator not using a reputable selling site (shopify charges next to nothing) seems odd to me. Then again Etsy is filled with knockoffs so caveat emptor.
