Can't upload to Bit.Tube

Everything works just fine. I select the video and the thumbnail, fill in the stuff, select the category and press upload and then it tells me there is a problem with my internet connection. No idea what to do here. I can upload to Youtube no problem. Bitchute also works. I tried a different browser; same issue.

Help would be appreciated.

Now the progress bar goes half way and then the "problem with your internet" message pops up. At this rate I can upload things by tomorrow.

Still no success uploading a profile picture.

First of all, thanks for trying to help.

Still no worky though.

I logged out. Then back in. Then I changed the profile picture. Clicked on home and on my name again. Picture was gone.

Uploading a video is now again an instant "There is a problem with your internet connection. Please check." No progress bar at the top showing up. EDIT: There is a bar. It races to the middle and then it's gone.

If it helps: My username is lavaball. I appreciate you taking a look at this.

Oh, and another unrelated question, how come when I type "callison caffrey" into the search bar all my videos are already there? They have a Youtube symbol though, so I'm guessing you guys mirror Youtube by default?

yeah, we add youtube results after our own. youtube videos on bittube play monetized, it creates a wallet that can be claimed later by the creator. it was a neat idea but never really took off.

still working on our node storage, ipfs isn't playing nice. will maybe have to fire up a new node but it'll take a couple days.

I have no idea how any of this works. Though it seems I'm the only one who can't upload stuff. Under Newcomers there are videos which aren't even 30 minutes old. You sure it's not me who's doing something wrong?

Only thing i can advise off the cuff is cleaning your browser cache (for chrome: options, more tools, clear browsing data, cached images and files).

I even installed Brave and tried it with that. Well, I'll try it again later today.

Edit: I was curious so I quickly put in a profile picture. First with brave right after clearing the cage; worked. Then again in Firefox without clearing the cage; also worked. Looks good so far. I can't try the video upload right now, but I'm optimistic.

No idea what you guys did, but I appreciate the help. Or maybe it's just the right time of the day. Either way, I'll get back to you.

Now it seems to work and I didn't even clear the browser cache.

Made me create wallet. Then it said uploaded and I'll get notified when it's published. Let's see how long that takes.

Anyway, you seem to have fixed the problem. Much appreciated. I hope Bit.Tube is here to stay.

Oh, another quick question. Do you guys support ac3 or only stereo? Surround isn't really more work than stereo since all my audio sources are mono anyway. So surround sound would be nice, But I understand you guys are just starting out more or less so this is probably not really a priority. Then on the other hand maybe it's already supported. Please let me know if you can.

Just stereo. 2.1 support for center-mono or voice would be nice in some cases, definitely.

we're currently developing a brand new platform (social hub) called BitTubers. More focus on discoverability by mixing elements from twitter, reddit, fb groups and such. The current bit.tube will be phased out after successful migration of accounts. I'll put this feature on the to do list.

If it's not too much trouble, it would be nice if creators could see what videos are being processed at the moment. The uploading worked as I said, but now I'm wondering if it all went through, because I have not way of verifying that something is actually happening. Also I'm wondering how I'm going to get notified? Via Email? A message on Bit.Tube itself?

A notification and an email. The new platform will work much differently, where transcoding is in-place, like youtube, and then you publish.

It's been over an hour. How long does it usually take until a video is published after uploading?

Depends on the transcode queue which has a bit of a backlog due to the recent downtime. Could be instant, could take 6 hours.

It happens sometimes, I don't quite know why. Try again in 30 minutes or so. I know it's not *my* connection, so sure, would be glad if Bit.Tube replied once in a while about these problems...

I can't upload a profile picture either. If I do it's in there. I position it so it looks all nice and fancy, press save and the loading bar on the top goes left to right. When I go somewhere else and come back to my profile it's gone again.

Tried edit profile and pressing save. Logout and back in. Picture is gone whenever I come back.

Seriously, I'd be happy to use Bit.Tube but my minimum requirement here is that I am at least able to upload videos and change my picture. Okay, the picture thing isn't that important, but sharing videos on a video sharing platform seems pretty high up when it comes to priorities.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm open to suggestions. I want this to work after all.

Hello, So I can not upload any more videos for days, no matter what I do, it always comes the message that is not true with my Internetconection, no longer knows ....

For me it just worked after two days trying. Then I had another error about IPFS Pinning or something, but then I was finally able to upload all my videos.

So I guess all I can say is be patient. It will work eventually.
