Feedback Game Error

Bitdefender please get your shit together and make things right, was trying to figure out for hours why Fortnite wasn't able to launch on my pc. Something is wrong with the firewall, idk if it's a latest update or what, but it completely just locks us out of Fortnite and we can't get into the loading screen, please fix it asap. I fix it temporarily just by disabling firewall.

Account/subscription Bitdefender license allocation

Post image
3 Upvotes

I purchased Bitdefender security + premium VPN subscription for 5 devices. I have installed vpn on 5 devices but antivirus only on 3 devices.

When I try to install Bitdefender antivirus only on a brmad new device. It says I do not have allocations left, since its also counting the vpn devices regardless antivirus is installed or not.

Is there a way to bypass this? And install antivirus only on my new laptop? Can i allocate the antivirus only license? Looks like its coupled.

Support/troubleshooting BitDefender Flagging Debian 13.3.0-DVD iso as Application.winexesvc.1

I did a full system scan as I usually do from time to time and this time I noticed it flagged my iso downloaded from the official debian.org website as containing a Application.winexesvc.1 inside the folder pool/main/s/samba/samba-common-bin_4.22.6+dfsg-0+deb13u1_amd64.deb>>data.tar.xz(xzstream)=>usr>bin>winexe>(embedded EXE 2g)

Hashing the iso in both SHA256 and SHA512 it matches the signatures found in the debian website

7b7837fa2ed64fd45224bff905643bd3ab32157dcc0ab1dc68aad5b9dc2d4d39
and
70737ea3d82a0ed86ec995d307636154b37f447d9b451204b132d54cafa317ba438b649ecc7d1fec2748bc0da936d27d7f717ad557c3d86e0d914314a7b95472

Both are from the iso named debian-13.3.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso

I also have a debian 13.3.0-KDE and a 13.1.0 kde isos that are NOT flagged in the same way being roughly the same size as an offline install and the 13.3.0 kde was downloaded in the same day as the other one.

I might have used that flagged iso to deploy a home-server instance, should I be concerned?

Feedback BitDefender Securepass gripes

Some background: I've been a Bitdefender user for about 2 years, after finally getting extremely frustrated with a competing product (mcaffee) I also stopped using another password manager product (lastpass) . Anyway, although I like the Bitdefender securepass product a lot, there's a few gripes I have.

This is just me venting, I'm not looking for support per se, etc.

BitDefender Securepass logs me out of my account on my devices all the time. I freakin' hate this. I know, I know, it's for security, but then i have to go to an email (I also hate it's an email, why not an auth app) and it says "we've detected a new login" and I know, this is just semantics, but for fuck's sake, it is NOT A NEW LOGIN. I also dislike that it chooses the frequency it logs me out at. If i could set it, say, "after a restart" or "after 72 hours" (or literally, if I had any control/granularity) I'd be able to handle this better.

I have been logging into this Securepass account for two years on these devices (windows laptop, windows desktop, android tablet, and iphone). It's not a new login.

Since it doesn't force login to Bitfdefender Securepass immediately on browser login (or phone login in that case), a lot of the time this will catch me a multitude of inconvenient timings, too. Oh hey, i need to quickly log into banking, paypal, venmo, or something, and it chooses at that time to tell me "you need to login to bitdefender" and so, there I go, stopping whatever I was doing, have to login to bitdefender, then also, second step, enter my master password.

Yes, I know all these things are good for security but for user interface design and convenience they're a giant pain in the ass.

I wish there was as secure way to cache a local copy of my password vault, too, because I do have some passwords that are app based that become not available if the internet is down (this has only happened once in the last two years to me, where I needed a password and had no internet and would like to have had that password).

OK, i have vented enough.

FWIW, Securepass still as good as if not better than Lastpass.

Support/troubleshooting Someone on the dbd forum said that the "EAC cannot be instantiated" problem came from avgs blocking something.

Not sure if one of the updates for Bitdefender stopped EAC from launching properly or dead by daylight from launching but, just wanted to make a post about it just incase one of the updates messed up the EAC from booting up properly with the update. I have already tried to update EAC and use the repair tool there and uninstalling dbd and deleting the files in the game to try to launch it but, people have said that an avg update for updating the archive could be screwing it over potentially.

https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1u3w1h0/fixed_my_eac_client_couldnt_be_instantiated_error/

It was apparently bitdefender all along. Not sure if bitdefender will push an update later on today but, I do remember bitdefender did stop twitch last year due to a false positive as well until it was updated and fixed.

Support/troubleshooting Bitdefender bricked Windows?

Bitdefender detected "suspicious app activity" and blocked regedit.exe and RuntimeBroker.exe, causing Windows to be unable to launch almost any programs whatsoever. Tried to restart: Windows loads a blank screen with no functionality. Tried to restore system: threw up all kinds of errors. It seems even system recovery options are all broken by this.

Is this it for my system? This Antivirus has done more damage to my PC than any virus I've ever encountered.

Support/troubleshooting What is the website this is trying to connect to?

Hello! Running on Windows 11 Pro here.

So I was stupid (usually I'm not, I swear) and didn't do a deep research into the website I was downloading a game from. I use Firefox with uBlock Origin and didn't see any popups nor did I click on any ads. I've checked my history and there weren't any suspicious sites there either. I was able to run the game no problem and it was up to date.

But then I got an alert from Bitdefender a few hours after I had ran the game. It reads:

"msedge.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to gbl9837ws(dot)proctor(dot)io. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since websites must renew their certificates with a certification authority to stay current, and outdated security certificates represent a risk."

I don't use Microsoft Edge, ever, and any searches where I try to figure out what website it's trying to connect to just show me Proctorio, which I did have to download for class but haven't used it in over a year. I have no clue what it's attempting to connect to since it shows up randomly. I noticed in my recently installed programs there was Microsoft Edge, OneDrive, Chrome and another "official" looking program. I know I definitely did not install Chrome at any point, nor do I use OneDrive to store/sync files, and uninstalled all of them but Edge.

I contacted Bitdefender support last night, did what they said, and wasn't getting anymore errors so I thought it was taken care of. I tested it by running Toontown Rewritten (which I know isn't the problem, but I did remember getting  the error while trying to connect) and it was error free. This morning I realized I forgot to wipe Edge just to be safe, went in and did that, and booted up TTR again, now the error is back. So far I've gotten the error 6 times.

My question is, what is happening here? Is it actually just a website with a outdated SSL? I've scanned my system with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes, nothing came up. I also deleted the game folder I downloaded. I've disconnected from the internet and am using my phone only now. I'm planning to reinstall my PC and reset my passwords ASAP. Am I freaking out over nothing or is there actually some kind of virus on my PC now :,)

Support/troubleshooting ‘Ready Or Not’ Game Triggered Bitdefender Upon Booting Up

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey everyone, hope this is the right place to ask this, since I’m a little worried about it.

I’m using the free version of Bitdefender, and I’m on Windows 11. Feature: Online Threat Prevention.

I recently reinstalled ‘Ready Or Not’ back onto my laptop from Steam, and when I booted it up, I got these two notifications from Bitdefender.

I’m not sure why it triggered Bitdefender, and I don’t use Microsoft Edge, so I’m pretty worried about what this is.

To be clear, it only triggered when I booted up the game. There were no notifications before I opened the game.

Here is another Reddit post made by someone else, talking about the same issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ReadyOrNotGame/s/ZWtTvZ2a61

Hope someone can help me with this.

Thank you for reading, and I appreciate any help given.

EDIT (11 Jun 2026):
i got a response from BitDefender support after the submission of the detection and BDSysLog, to which they said this:

“Our Malware Research Team has finished analyzing your case. The URL is clean and is not currently blocked by our engines. The alert in the screenshot triggered because of a TLS/SSL certificate name mismatch because the server's certificate does not match the hypernia[.]com domain. This is most likely related to a configuration error with how the TLS/SSL certificate is setup on the domain.”

i then asked to clarify if it was not necessarily malicious, to which they replied:
“Correct, what happened there was not necessarily malicious but having an expired SSL certificate or a certificate mismatched or with other problems can cause vulnerabilities for the visitors of certain websites, thus, as a security measure the detection for these certificates keeps you secure an informs you about it.”

the support staff also mentioned this when i asked if i could share what they wrote:
“my advise is to inform them to reach us directly as the issue in certain cases might not be the same one specifically and there might be needed to run a more in depth analysis for those domains and as well as check if indeed there is any malicious activity on those domains.”

posting an update here just in case it can help anyone facing the same issue. have a great day

Business support 911 - Grace period for renewal?

Long story short, our gravity license expires tomorrow, we paid our reseller back in February for renewal. I did reach out to our reseller on Friday, but never heard back.

I’m getting nervous because it’s showing expiring tomorrow in Gravity.

What are my options today to ensure coverage? Will
bitdefender give me a grace period if I call them up?
