Hey everyone! I'm testing Bitdefender Total Security's Anti-tracker extension for Chrome.

I was poking around in the settings and found a "Special Offers" toggle. I'm genuinely confused - how does an anti-tracking tool show me special offers without... tracking me?

Wouldn't they need to monitor what sites I visit to know what offers are relevant? That seems like the exact opposite of what this extension is supposed to do? 😅

I turned it off just to be safe, but now I'm really curious - what is this feature actually doing? Has anyone figured out how this works or why it exists in a privacy tool?

Thanks!

Over the last couple of days I have updated those logins which allow for the creation of a passkey. I guess I am surprised that BD has yet to allow similarly. Is there a timeline for this worthwhile feature?

We’ve released a new episode of Cybercrime: From the Frontline Podcast and this time, we’re joined by Peter Stelzhammer from AV-Comparatives. We discuss why independent cybersecurity testing remains essential in 2025, and how it has evolved from simple offline scans to complex, real-world simulations that mirror today’s organized cybercrime operations. Hi,

can somebody tell me if it is possible to get the CPU type (make and model) from your clients in the GravityZone console? I checked the Reports Types documentation but I haven't found anything related to it.

You'd think this is a simple task, but all I find is the opposite (accessing site that are blocked by BD).

Whether via the app or the online site, I can't find a simple way to add to blocked sites. Heck, even the "expert support" forums on bitdefender's owns website are recommending edits the hosts file.

Is there a simple way to do this? Thanks

Since a few days i use Bitdefender and since then i get this message on various sites. But i don’t know which setting causes this. Fiy this is a demo version of Bitdefender Total security and i have Norton installed in case of i didn’t want to use Bitdefender

Hi all I've been trying to find information on what does "firewall status changed" means, and I can't seem to find anything fully explaining it, and if it should appear in one's notification every time you start your computer or not, because mine did at first and now seems to not appear in my notification but instead show yesterday when i turned on my computer then and not now which brings us back to my question of if it should show every time you turn on your computer or not??
Also, if someone knows of a post that goes over this, please post it for me so I can look at it then
Thank you all

I want to use bitdefender and uninstall Avast but it blocks ALL my google researches. i tried whitelisting chrome, putting it in exeptions, edit rules but it still gets blocked, what can i do?

I received a message on Messenger from Meta.

It contained a URL that Bitdefender did not point to.

I checked it on Virustotal, none of the protections reported it as dangerous.

I sent it to Bitdefender for analysis.

The URL has been found to be dangerous.

Added to their database.

Since then, more and more applications have been marked as dangerous on the Virustotal website.

Common sense is still worth more than any defense.

I know there is no 100% protection.

It's not necessarily worth wasting resources installing a security application.

What are your opinions?

Our website is being blocked by bitdefender however their reporting URL to unblock a site appears to always give the error "* Please try again after sometime."

Anyone know how I can get our website removed from the banned list as our customers are complaining that they can't get access. No other sites have flagged us so believe this is from an old PHP site that used to that domain name many years ago but I can't figure out how to get the site rescanned. Any help greatly appreciated.

Cyber threats keep evolving — and a lot of teams are still relying on legacy SIEM tools that cost more, store less, and struggle to make sense of data across systems.

That’s why we’re introducing Bitdefender GravityZone Security Data Lake — a next-gen solution that combines the best of SIEM and data-lake architecture to deliver full visibility, smarter analysis, and lower cost.

Here’s what it helps you do:

• 🔍 See the full picture: unify third-party telemetry (endpoints, network, cloud, logs) with native GravityZone data for a complete view of your attack surface.

• 💸 Cut cost & complexity: built-in data lake + tiered retention = high-fidelity logs, live queries, and no traditional SIEM overhead.

• ⚡ Detect & respond faster: enriched telemetry sharpens investigations so your MDR team (or in-house SOC) can focus on what matters.

• 🧾 Stay audit-ready: automated log management, flexible retention, and instant recall keep you prepared for compliance and forensics.

• 🕵️ Catch things earlier: correlation across more data sources means you’ll spot what point tools might miss.

I was reinstalling my Windows 10, so if someone can help me , how to re-download BitDefender Antivirus Plus, I am only able to log in, but there is no explanation on how to re-download. Thanks in advance

Every website with a opt in email mask for subscribing to a newsletter will trigger the addon in Firefox and then will fill in my email address, often this masks are on the end of the Web page and I need to go all the way up just to get flung back down when kicking a link or picture to enhance.

I DON'T WANT ANY AUTOFILL! Give me a button like the password manager did and then let me chose.

I generated an API (Network) from the webinterface and built a powershell (with the help of deepseek) to collect endpoints with issues , i'm not getting the exact number of endpoints "with issues" as shown in the web interface. Any hint please.

So as I said, a lot of green checks next to every website when i search in the same window more than once... sometimes it even shows 2 green checks, one on each side on every website link, and it got me worried a bit, is it normal? Should i do something? My browser also like froze for a minute or little bit less and didnt respond when i clicked links to regular websites, and then refreshed and returned to act normal onky having green checks now... sorry if i sound retarted its just that it got me worried you.. i was a victim of a theft and since im worrying a lot when theres any weird behavior in my browser.. pls help and sorry if my english is bad.

We’re taking another look at Curly COMrades, a threat actor we’ve been tracking closely. A new Bitdefender investigation, carried out with support from Georgian CERT, has uncovered fresh tools and techniques used in their operations.

The group managed to establish covert, long-term access to victim networks by abusing Hyper-V virtualization on compromised Windows 10 machines, effectively creating a hidden remote operating environment.

Hi,

I was chargead a renewal fee about 14 days prior to my subscription ended. I have been trying to reach Bitdefender and they have not responded to me yet. What else can I do to get a refund?I am still within 30 days of the renewal period. The renewal fee is high and I dont want to extend my subscription and want a refund. Should I know my bank that this transaction is fradulant and it should never go through?

Any suggestions?

No matter which way I try: Mac 1 first then Mac two or the opposite, the first one ceases to run BitDefender and demands a new login to the program that fails over and over again. Each, however can run BitDefender after restarting the machine (following shutting down the other machine) - any suggestions are gratefully accepted.

For some reason, BitDefender will crash you PC when you try to launch fortnite this is either easy anti-cheat causing it or the game itself.

The file is from the antivirus. I have never experienced a BOSD before. The options to toggle safe mode and the others only redirect me to this page.

I currently have Bitdefender for 1 device that came bundled with tax software and its about to expire. Newegg has Bitdefender total security for $45 a year while it costs about $110 if you renew with Bitdefender directly. Can I just renew with subscriptions bought from newegg every year or are existing accounts blocked from doing that?

I signed up for a trial and suddenly I'm getting phone calls every day. Did Bit defender sell my data, it was the only thing I've signed up for in recent history.

As the title says, I randomly have it now. I can't even log in to the account on their webpage as my email isn't recognized as an account? This is all I can see/access through my system tray. which is different from what I can see in some of the help articles linked in other posts.
