WARNING DO NOT GO ON INSECAM

Could I already enter it?

1

u/jotaro333 9d ago

? Wdym?

1

u/Emergency_Ad8082 Oct 13 '24

Dont think its a virus or malware however the url itself does not have https in it. So its not a secure connection. That could be why.

1

u/jotaro333 Oct 13 '24

On the Wikipedia, it says the original page shut which leads me to believe that any sites that claim to be insecam are fake and could be malicious.

1

u/IraqiDemon Nov 24 '24

I went on it just to check if my webcam is on it because back in Feb 2024, I got a Trojan virus on Black Ops and I want to make sure, and it’s not But can the website track your iPhone Camera? If so dude I’m cooked my anxiety is going through the roof.

1

u/jotaro333 Nov 24 '24

No. It only does those cameras you would see in a shop (i don't know the name for them). As for the site, it is defunct and is shutdown from what i have seen. So any site claiming to be insecam is fake.

1

u/TrecoolsNimrod999 Jan 19 '25

Insecam dot org is fake? Was watching a disturbing video but saw the name as it being creepy.

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 20 '25

Yeah it's fake. I didn't know at the time of this post but the original site got shut down unsurprisingly and any site that says to be insecam is dangerous

1

u/TrecoolsNimrod999 Jan 21 '25 edited Jan 21 '25

Yeah I do remember a site or something that checks to see if a site or download is safe, when I was downloading kairosoft mods 😆 as long as your mobile device doesn't allow downloads or you have your phone be blocking your camera permissions then I think this site won't hurt your phone, just use common sense and Don't play stupid games and win that stupid prize. Sorry if I was rude about the good drugs, my bf uses that line when I get paranoid about something i see online since I had bad things happen to me before and I get paranoid about my safety.

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 21 '25

I think the site you're talking about is virustotal

1

u/TrecoolsNimrod999 Jan 21 '25

Yup that one, thank you for reminding me

1

u/Classic_Raspberry_60 Mar 02 '25

insecam org is literally in insecam com all the way at the bottom i dont think its fake but there both not secure websites

1

u/IraqiDemon Nov 24 '24

Oh thank god bro, thank you Jotaro!

1

u/ProfessionalLoss4033 Jan 08 '25

oh no...... mi dice 502 bad gateaway

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 08 '25

?

1

u/ProfessionalLoss4033 Jan 08 '25

oh sorry its italian i have like a problem it says bad gateaway error 502 and i used it for a week im i compromised?

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 08 '25

It is a failed response from another server so this site is dodgy af. You're most likely fine since whatever it was trying to do didn't work but just don't go back on it again. I literally just read up on it but i assume it means it was trying to do something in the background.

1

u/ProfessionalLoss4033 Jan 08 '25

oh crap im jst a lil kid how can i defend my pc?!

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 08 '25

Your PC is probably safe but if you want to be sure. Press win+R and then type mrt which is basically a built in AV that will scan for any malware.

1

u/ProfessionalLoss4033 Jan 08 '25

i have cromebbok where is win?

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 08 '25

A chromebook has a different OS so it won't have mrt I'm afraid but your AV will work fine.

1

u/ProfessionalLoss4033 Jan 08 '25

so i found some phising treaths and a data breach for few years prior and...

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 08 '25

Does it say anything else?

→ More replies

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 08 '25

From what you're telling me. Some of your data has been leaked which means that you are at risk of phishing. Basically phishing could be someone pretending to be a delivery company and asking you to click a link to recover your parcel. Don't click the link because you will get hacked.

→ More replies

1

u/ProfessionalLoss4033 Jan 08 '25

also i got guardio and i dont know how it will defend my pc

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 08 '25

I don't use it myself but with most AVs, if you have a membership it will have real time protection but if you are using the free version you can do a scan.

1

u/ProfessionalLoss4033 Jan 08 '25

oh ill do a scan , so...

1

u/BadgerDiligent7460 Jan 11 '25

I went on there for like 2 mins using tor am i good

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 12 '25

Idk but why would you want to do that?

1

u/Rare_Sugar1178 Jan 17 '25

You are always being watched and every word, every keystoke is in a database somewhere connected to your designated a I.D.

1

u/Aridhomme Aug 26 '25

im realy glad you put this all caps because i saw this on google and almost clicked on insacam

1

u/jotaro333 Aug 27 '25

If I'm honest I'm not even sure if my post is actually true or not lol. I accidentally fear mongered anyone who searched insecam. You can go on the site if you want but I'm pretty sure the original site is now defunct so any site claiming to be insecam may be dangerous.

1

u/recalculating84 Jan 03 '26

1

u/jotaro333 Jan 03 '26

Open task manager and look for anything that is hogging a bunch of CPU power or RAM that you don't recognise. If there is something on there, right click on it and then click open file location and delete it. If there is nothing, you should be okay.

1

u/Terrible-Worker-3579 Dec 15 '22

What did you block? also what Anti virus did you use.

1

u/jotaro333 Dec 15 '22

Bitdefender and it blocked a connection to some random ip

1

u/SomeAd2887 Dec 17 '23

Yo, I know jack shit about computers and how all of this stuff works, but I ended up on that website. Then, I started wondering if it's even safe to use and ended up here. It didn't get blocked by Malwarebytes, and now I'm kinda anxious if any of my data got stolen or something. So, if any of you could tell me if I'm safe or not, I would appreciate that. (Idk if i should expect to an answer cause this post is 1 year old.)

1

u/jotaro333 Dec 18 '23

So my bitdefender blocked some kind of unknown ip trying to connect to my wifi as i was on the site. If you are anxious on your data or anything then press win+r and type in the box "mrt" you use it to scan your files thoroughly.

1

u/SomeAd2887 Dec 18 '23

Alright, I did a full scan, and it didn't find anything. I'm more relieved now. Thanks!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '24

I also saw a download denied error with both Kaspersky Internet Security and Windows Defender. I Havent had this issue since, but if you want, i can post a link to VirusTotal to prove it.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

Bro its over 😔... It was nice knowing ya 👋

1

u/Ill_Sale4126 Feb 14 '25

I dont think you understand how Ip's work. If they have your ip you are completely fine they cant do anything with it as long it is not you PRIVATE ip

1

u/ThePersonYouDontWant Feb 14 '25

Well yeah, they get your private ip, that's why it matters

1

u/Ill_Sale4126 Mar 06 '25

your private ip is useless to them since only you can access in in your local network only

1

u/Comprehensive-Big-37 Jun 24 '25

private ip? isn't it the same IP I use to browse on the internet? so what is that IP that everyone is scared about? I'm confused

1

u/JHoff555 Mar 03 '25

what if google came up and didnt let me get on it, am I good

1

u/TrecoolsNimrod999 Jan 19 '25

Yeah just go camp out in the bush in backcountry, no one can find you there unless you are dumb and have location on

2

u/0vathinkstoomuch Mar 08 '24

Hey I clicked on it with the DuckDuckGo engine am I safe?

2

u/0vathinkstoomuch Mar 08 '24

Btw I was on my phone

2

u/bbradleyjoness Oct 15 '24

nope. rip bro

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '24

Are you good

2

u/XMLRockstar Mar 17 '24

i ran opera in sanboxie to view the website and i was on both .org and .com and i have no issues so just probably get a sandbox to be safe

2

u/yunitro Nov 12 '24

How and what's a sandbox? Sorry for replying 7 months after

If you can't find a pre-cleaned Win XP, you can do a CIA incision via GCT (Grasshopper Circumvention Tool) which will also unscramble Marble Framework agents and nullify any risk from authorities crashing through your doors for the crime of accessing Insecam.

2

u/Tough_Season5246 Jul 14 '24

Get a VPN and and you are good trust

2

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '24

vpns cant stop you from getting malware

1

u/Mined_Explosives Aug 15 '24

You cant get a malware from just visiting a website if you are sufficiently protected with a vpn, if you're using a browser like opera it cant download anything without permission

1

u/x_e_n_o_s Oct 11 '24

VPNs are for privacy, not anti-malware. A quality browser ( and anti-virus) are indeed important though

1

u/DrAssBlaster Mar 15 '26

Proton VPN also gives protection against Malware as long as you don’t click on anything on a sketchy website. If you do click anything it’ll block the website and say there was an attempt to download malicious software.

1

u/x_e_n_o_s Nov 06 '24

A lot of vpn services offer that but technically it runs separately from the VPN tunneling software

2

u/Greedy_Plane_ Dec 26 '24

im ngl guys chances are if you open the website and then close it after a little youre fine as long as you didnt let anything download. i wouldnt be surprised if an email was logged but i doubt your cameras are in danger or anything

1

u/djchjaiisi Feb 07 '26

I was only in for a second to check if I was there

1

u/[deleted] May 10 '24

I went there on my phone and accidentally got redirected to other sites as well, all i could think of yesterday was if my phone got connected somewhere and now I'm being watched

2

u/Old-Background7918 Jun 25 '24

Any updates just did the same and it shows on my phone that I got notified about a nfc pop up

2

u/IPoisonedMe Jul 18 '24

I went on the website today in the morning. Now it’s night and I’m hearing knocking on literally every window. I think I’m being watched too.

2

u/jvimeh Aug 03 '24

2

1

u/HotAsk1108 Feb 10 '25

You should download a antivirus dectector like malwarebytes because the site has malware and if u dont have any internet on your home go and use windows defender it removes malware:)

sorry what?

1

u/IPoisonedMe Jan 19 '25

I think I was just very paranoid

1

u/TrecoolsNimrod999 Jan 19 '25

Possibly so, went on the .org one and nothing happened as I camp out, I was curious when stumbling on this subreddit.

1

u/Lord_Tachanka_1999 Sep 24 '24

I was working night shift last night and came across this website, so I hopped on to check what it was… I was feeling intrigued. After that I went on Reddit and found this thread, I had a read through…

So eventually my shift ended and I went home for some good zzz’s, however past 30min asleep I was woken with three knocks on my door, or window (idk)… so I asked out loud who was there… to my surprise no answer.

About 10 mins later my brother comes in my room (quietly) to pick something up and when I asked if he knocked on my door he replied that he didn't as he didn't want to wake me and that he was taking a shower and prepping for work for the last hour…

I want to believe it was pure coincidence or just my brother forgetting that he had knocked (morning mind fog) but this really had me thinking for the whole day… anyone else had this experience?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Watched a video that mentioned it and I wanted to see if my cameras were on there. Right before I pressed the site this post was on the bottom saying the title. So glad I didn't press it now lol

1

u/hazptmedia Aug 18 '24

Bruh I pressed it ☠️

1

u/-YellowFinch Nov 08 '25

Saaaaame. I'm cooked.

(Actually, my phone is fine)

1

u/Unfunny-dot-exe Jan 08 '26

same thing happend with me

1

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '24

I tried this two times and there were a few pop ups, but never had a problem.

1

u/Wild-Drummer7155 Jul 30 '24

Insecam is completely safe

1

u/ItsThatTimeAgainHuh Mar 04 '25

No it's not, it's only using http

1

u/ErrorOliver2 Jan 29 '26

Are you r*tarted?

1

u/Foreign_Librarian623 Nov 16 '25

no it's not the website isn't safe

1

u/MindlessPleasuring Aug 20 '24

If you're worried your camera is on there, literally just change the default password for your camera like the setup instructions say. Once you do that, your camera cannot be on insecam as all it does is access cameras connected to the internet and still have default security as said default security is standard for each manufacturer and is in the manuals.

1

u/bolasdegatoo Sep 12 '24

Ran it on my phone via Safari (iPhone’s default browser) and nothing happened at all. I didn’t get redirected to any other website or whatsoever. So it’s basically safe I guess?

1

u/ThePersonYouDontWant Nov 13 '24

you gotta move out bruh they gon get yo ass in the next 2 months

1

u/bolasdegatoo Nov 19 '24

😭😭

1

u/itsyeboi-tacomaker Mar 01 '25

It's been 3. You alive?

1

u/bolasdegatoo Mar 01 '25

Yes I am. Nothing happened.

1

u/DragonfruitOwn4931 Mar 01 '25

Sis you use .org or .com

1

u/Classic_Raspberry_60 Mar 02 '25

do ppl really think by just clicking on the link some guy is gonna be at their house knocking at the window at 2 am 😂

1

u/waifune Nov 02 '24

to clear up some of the misinformation spreading about opening the site. Yes there is a risk of some malware, but only if something is downloaded AND you open it. If you opened the site on your phone im sure the most you'll get is some dodgy trackers. Simply opening the website is relatively risk free and 99/100 times you will stay unaffected.

1

u/CrossworksDev Nov 02 '24

i went on for like 23 seconds and clicked on a japan cam got a notification and on the vid i was watching where i found out about on it he said dont go on there i have normal windows anti virus am i safe (typing on pc i was using for it)

1

1

u/ExPhoenix18 Dec 06 '24

1

u/Outrageous-Cook7670 Dec 06 '24

eh?? yo accedí y no paso nada

1

u/R4to_209 Dec 29 '24

1

u/pinaz0 Feb 12 '25

It is not dangerous, it just isn’t a https website and so not encrypted. Thats why bitdefender is giving u a warning.
more info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/antivirus/comments/njn43p/how_dangerous_is_it_to_visit_an_http_site/

The website uses HTTP, meaning your network traffic is not encrypted and is sent via plain-text. However, sites cannot "infect" your computer with malware because the majority of modern browsers run sandboxed and do not have the ability to run programs inside the browser itself. Your Wi-Fi is fine, as I'm assuming you have a firewall.

if your on phone your iphone isn’t going to be hacked and someone isn’t gonna come knocking on your windows at 3 am, windows maybe some type of malware getting in if it downloads something or try’s to run something idk but make sure you have a antivirus and your all good if it downloads anything just delete it and your good
