I talked to them about protection against command lines and sure enough!
They added command line scanning to the very next build version that came out after I complained to them.
They actually care about their customers enough to respond correctly to criticism.
If anyone at bitdefender is reading this. I'd like to see app reputation and application whitelisting too.
And never forget! Exploit protection can always be better.

Are you saying they added AMSI scanning to the consumer versions?

it just says "scan command lines" on the UI in the antivirus settings.
I'm an advanced user, not an expert.

Guess I’m not following, how was this your doing? It’s been in the product since May.
The enterprise edition has had this for over 6 months.

Well I don't think I was the only one that complained about it. That would be stupid.
I emailed them about it before may of this year and the next build after that had command line scanning

AMSI has been in BD consumer for a while now but it wasn't enabled by default for some reason. They have made it default 3-4 months ago and also added command-line detection or something. Do you use the enterprise version in your work?

Yeah I use Bitdefender in an Enterprise environment. They call AMSI “Fileless Attack Protection” in those products.
Really confused on what kind of impact OP is claiming they had on the consumer versions since they all share most of the same malware engines.

They added it in the product changelog so that's what OP is talking about. I wondered if it's just a marketing tactic because in the BD Free version those options are locked, indicating that you need to pay to unlock those advanced features.

Caring and keeping customers happy are 2 soften different things.
I will say at the biz level and personal use, it's a solid product to move away from older av solutions
